Glory be to Thee, O Lord, because Thou hast looked upon my humility and didst bear me up in the hands of thine enemies: but Thou didst save me from the distress of my soul.
Now, O Master, let Thy hand cover me, and let Thy mercy come unto me, for my soul is humbled and sorely afflicted in its going down, from the travail and corruption of this present life: that the crafty adversary may not meet with me and entangle me in darkness, for I have sinned both openly and secretly in these days; be Thou merciful to me, O Master, and let my soul not look upon the dark glance of the evil spirits.
But let them receive the bright and glorious angels' light: give glory to Thy name, O Venerable One, and by Thine power lift me up unto Thy heavenly judgment. When Thou judgest me, may not the hand of this world's prince receive me, that he might cast me into the depths of hell as a sinner; but stand for me, be my salvation and my protector: for these bodily sufferings are joy to Thy servants.
Pity me, O Lord, who have defiled myself with the sinfulness of this present life, my soul, and cleanse it by confession and repentance. For Thou art blessed unto the ages of ages, Amen.
