The Gospel according to Luke, Chapter 1 began.

In the days of His Resurrection, Jesus Christ arose from the dead and stood among His disciples, saying to them: "Peace be with you." Having been frightened, they said that they had seen a spirit. And He said to them: "Why are ye troubled? And why do thoughts arise in your hearts? Behold My hands and My feet, for I am He Myself." Touch Me and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones as you see Me having. Then He showed them His hands and His feet. But those who were still unbelieving from joy and wonderment said to Him: "Have ye here any food?" And taking bread, He blessed it before them. And He said to them: "These are the words which I spoke to you while I was with you, that all things must be fulfilled which are written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me." Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures. And He said to them: "Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead on the third day, and to go forth by His name preaching forgiveness of sins in all the world, beginning at Jerusalem. Ye are witnesses of these things. And I send you the Promise of My Father; but tarry ye in Jerusalem until ye be endued with power from above." Leading them out as far as Bethany, He lifted up His hands and blessed them. And it came to pass when He had blessed them, He departed from them and was carried up into heaven. They fell down on their faces and returned to Jerusalem with great joy. And they were in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.
