The Gospel according to Luke, Chapter 1 began.

In the days of His Resurrection, Jesus Christ rose from the dead and stood among His disciples, saying to them: "Peace be with you." Having been terrified, they said that they saw a spirit. And He said to them: "Why are ye troubled? And why do thoughts arise in your hearts? Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I myself; touch Me and see, for a spirit hath not flesh and bones as ye see Me having." Then He said to them, showing them His hands and His feet. Still others, not believing because of joy, marveling, said to Him: "Have ye here any food?" And taking bread, before them, He blessed it. Saying to them: "These are the words which I spoke to you while I was with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written concerning Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms." Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures. And said to them: "Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead on the third day, and to go forth by preaching repentance and remission of sins in all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem. Ye are witnesses of these things. And behold, I send the promise of My Father upon you; but tarry ye in the city until ye be endued with power from on high." Having led them out as far as Bethany, He lifted up His hands and blessed them. And it came to pass when He had blessed them, He departed from them, and was carried up into heaven. And they worshipped Him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy. And were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.
