Oh, All-Good Father Nicholas, shepherd and teacher of all who flow with faith to your intercession and call upon you with warm prayer. Strive quickly and deliver the flock of Christ from the wolves that are destroying it and every Christian country, protect and preserve with your holy prayers from worldly rebellion, cowardice, invasion of foreigners, and internecine warfare, from famine, flood, fire, sword and from vain death. And just as you had mercy on three men imprisoned, and delivered them from the royal wrath and beatings of the sword, so have mercy on me, in mind, in word, and in deed, in the darkness of sins, and deliver me from the wrath of God and eternal punishment, as through your intercession and help, with your mercy and grace, Christ God, quiet and sinless life will give me to live in this world, and will deliver me from this place, and will make me worthy of the right hand, with all the saints. To the Holy Hierarch Father Mitrofan, by the incorruption of your honorable relics, and by the many good deeds miraculously done and performed by you, flowing to you with faith, convinced that you have received great grace from the Lord our God, we all humbly fall down and pray to you: pray for us, Christ our God, may he send down to all who revere your holy memory, and earnestly to you to those who come running, His rich mercies. May He establish in His Holy Orthodox Church the living spirit of faith and piety, the spirit of knowledge and love, the spirit of peace and joy - about the Holy Spirit! Yes, all its members, pure from worldly temptations and carnal lusts, and the evil actions of evil spirits, worship Him in spirit and in truth and are diligently concerned about keeping His commandments, for the salvation of their souls.
Let her shepherd, - may holy zeal give care for the salvation of the people entrusted to them: may the unbelievers be enlightened; those who are ignorant will be instructed; those who doubt will be enlightened and convinced; those who have fallen away from the Orthodox Church will be converted into its holy bowels; believers will be kept in faith; sinners are moved to repentance; those who repent will be consoled and strengthened in correcting their lives; those who have repented and corrected themselves will be confirmed in the holiness of life; - and so, everyone will be led, along the path indicated by Him, into the prepared eternal kingdom of His saints! May our Most Pious, Most Autocratic, Great Sovereign, Emperor Alexander Nikolaevich, grant: courage, wisdom, victory over all enemies; success in establishing the prosperity of His kingdom, and to all of His most august house—joy and longevity! To those chosen by Him to rule and judge His kingdom, may He bestow zeal, insight, wisdom and fidelity! May they govern and judge for the peace and joy of all!
May He grant all His people in the State: peace, silence, serenity; zeal in fulfilling His commandments, the institutions of the holy Church and the civil law, and abundance, in what is necessary for this life, and may He deliver the reigning cities, this city and all other cities of His kingdom, and all: from famine, cowardice, flood, fire, sword, invasion of foreigners, civil wars, deadly plagues and from all evil! Oh, Heavenly citizen of Jerusalem, Reverend Father Sergius! Look upon us graciously, and, those who are devoted to the earth, lead us to the heights of heaven. You are a mountain in heaven: we, on earth below, are removed from you, not only by place, but by our sins and iniquities; but to you, as one who is related to us, we run and cry; teach us to walk in your way; enlighten and guide! It is characteristic of you to have Our Father - compassion and love for mankind; Living on earth, I care not only about my own salvation, but also about everyone who flows to you. Your instruction was with the reed of a scribe, a cursive writer, on everyone’s heart, inscribing the verbs of life. It was not just physical illnesses that you healed, but even more so, an elegant physician appeared to you; and your whole holy life was a mirror of all virtues. Even though you were so much Holy of God on earth, how much are you now in heaven? Today you stand before the throne of unapproachable light, and in it, like in a mirror, see all our needs and petitions! You are together with the Angels, who repent of one sinner and rejoice!
And God’s love for mankind is inexhaustible, and your boldness towards Him is great: do not stop crying to the Lord for us! Ask for your intercession from our All-Merciful God: peace of His Church, under the sign of the militant cross; agreement in faith and unanimity; superstition and schism - destruction; affirmation in good deeds; healing for the sick; consolation for the sad; intercession for the offended; help for the needy! Do not disgrace us, who come to you with faith. Even more, we are unworthy of such a great Father and intercessor; but you, being an imitator of God’s love for mankind, make us worthy by turning from evil deeds to good living! All God-enlightened Russia, filled with your miracles and blessed with graces, confesses that you are their patron and intercessor! Reveal your ancient mercies, and you helped them as their father, do not reject us, their children, who are marching towards you in their footsteps! We believe that you are present with us in spirit! Where the Lord is, as His word teaches us, there His servant will be!
You are a faithful servant of the Lord, and to God, who exists everywhere, you are in Him, and He is in you; Moreover, you are with us in body! Behold your incorruptible and life-giving relics, like a priceless treasure, grant us the God of miracles. Standing before them, as I live for you, we fall down and pray: accept our prayer and offer them up on the altar of God’s mercy! May we receive grace from you and help in our time of need! Strengthen our cowardice and confirm us in faith: let us undoubtedly hope to receive all the good things from the mercy of the Master through your prayers. But your spiritual flock, gathered by you, do not cease to rule with the rod of spiritual wisdom: help those who strive; Rise up the paralytic, hasten to bear the yoke of Christ in complacency and patience, and guide us all, in peace and repentance, end our life and move with hope into the blessed bosom of Abraham, but you joyfully, after your labors and struggles, now rest, glorifying with all the saints God, glorified in the Trinity, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
