Commanded is this hidden reception in the understanding, in the blood of Ishmael by eager longing, speaking unspeakably: Bowing down with the descent of heaven, it remains unchangeable throughout thee. And having seen him in thy bridal chambers, the servant's eye trembling called to thee: Rejoice, bride who art not a bride.

Chosen warrior-victor, because thou hast delivered us from hearing, we thank thee, O Theotokos: but since thou hast a mighty power invincible, deliver us from all our sorrows, and we cry to thee:

Rejoice, O Bridegroom without a Bride.

Angel of the presence, sent from the heavenly ones, said to the Theotokos: Rejoice! And with a voice ineffable thou wast seen by the Lord, standing in fear and calling her thus:

Rejoice, because thou bearest Him who bears all.

Rejoice, O Heart of the Incarnate Lord.

Rejoice, whereunto we bow down to the Creator.

Seeing himself in the holy one, Gabriel speaks boldly: Most glorious voice of Thee does not please my soul exceedingly: for without seed was conceived the conception as Thou hast said, calling: Hail, full of grace.

O Lord, who can understand the unsearchable understanding of those seeking to discern two? Come to us, Thou who art invoked with fear; from the pure fountain, as is meet and right, speak to us. And He answered with fear, saying thus:

Power from on high then descended upon the deceit of marriage, and the fruitful womb, for as a sweet land it showed itself to all who wished to reap salvation, when it sang thus: Glory be to Thee.

I enter into Thy thoughts of doubtful doubts, the wise one Isaac has hidden himself from me, Thou hast become unmarriageable to me, and have conceived a forbidden thought, chaste: but I know that Thy conception was by the holy Spirit, saying:

Glory to Thee, O Lady Theotokos! Higher than all the angels and archangels, mightier than all created things, Thou art helper of the faithful, comforter of the sorrowful, hope of the despairing, advocate before God, solace of the hungry, garment of the naked, healer of the sick, savior of sinners, helper and intercessor for all. Through Thee, O Lady Theotokos, we cry: Double glory to Thee! By Thy mercy, save us, O most venerable Patriarchs of the Orthodox Church, archbishops, bishops, and all clergy, and every Orthodox Christian by Thy garment of protection. Pray for us, O Lady Theotokos, that Thou who wast made flesh without seed mayst bring Jesus Christ our God into our midst with power both visible and invisible against our enemies. Through Thee, O Lady Theotokos, the Virgin, raise us from the depths of sin, deliver us from hunger, destruction, fear, flood, fire, sword, encounter with strangers and mutual strife, from vain death, from attack by enemies, from destructive winds, from deadly stars, and from every evil. Grant peace and health to Thy servants, all Orthodox Christians, enlighten them in heart and mind for salvation: and make us, O sinful servants of Thine, worthy again to receive the Body of Thy Son Jesus Christ our God: as His kingdom is blessed and glorified with His Father, before Him, and on His throne, now and forever. Amen.
