Commanded by the hidden mystery, received in the understanding and the blood of Iosif with eager longing, Thou standest before the Uncreated, speaking unspeakably: Bowing down with the Descent of Heaven, Thou art ever present within Thee.

And when He saw Thee in Thy bridal chambers, the servant of God's gaze trembling, cried out to Thee: Rejoice, Bridegroom, not yet wedded.

Blessed among leaders, conqueror of hearing, thanking thee, we write thy servant to Thee, O Theotokos:

But because thou hast a mighty power invincible,
from all our various sorrows set us free,
that we may call upon Thee:

Rejoice, O Bridegroom without a Bride.

Angel of the Presence, sent from God, said with a voice without body: Rejoice! And with a visible voice, thou hast seen the Lord, being amazed and standing, calling her thus:

Rejoice, wherein the oath shall vanish away.

Rejoice, O weepers saved from tears.

Rejoice, because thou bearest Him who bears all.

Rejoice, O star shining as the sun:

Seeing thy holy self in this, Gabriel speaketh with boldness: the glorious sound of thy voice worketh not pleasingly within my soul: for without seed wast thou conceived, as thou didst say, calling: Hail, full of grace.

O Thou Ununderstandable in understanding, to those seeking to understand, cry unto the ministering ones: "From the pure mouth, as it is, let there come mightily; speak to us." And He answered with fear, and thus did he pray for mercy.

Power from on high then descended upon the deceit of unlawful union, and upon that fair abode, because it showed a sweet savor to all who desired to reap salvation, when it sang thus: Gloria.

Granting us a merciful dawn, we have come to the Virgin: and when the infant recognized His holy touch, He rejoiced and with games sang a song to the Theotokos:

Rejoice, ye branches unwavering in the tempest:

I enter into Thy thought of doubts concerning the unlearned, and I am made wise by Theosiph, Thou art become a bride unto me, and I who have been defiled in thought, undefiled: for having known Thy conception with the holy Spirit, I say: Alleluia.

But even unto the end, keep us unsullied by thy prayers: for by Thy intercession and help, we are saved; glory, praise, thanksgiving, and adoration we offer Thee now and ever and to the ages of ages. Glory to Thee, O Lady Theotokos! Higher than all the angels and archangels, mightier than all created things, Thou art the Helper of the faithful, the Hope of those without hope, the Advocate of God, the Comforter of the sorrowful, the Sustainer of the hungry, the Giver to the naked, the Healer of the sick, the Deliverer of sinners, the Helper and Protector of all. Through Thee, O Lady Theotokos, we cry: Hail to Thee! By Thy mercy, forgive us, O most reverend Patriarchs, bishops, archdeacons, priests, and all clergy, and all Orthodox Christians, by Thy garment intercede for us, that the Holy Spirit may grant us strength from above against invisible and visible enemies. Through Thee, O Lady Theotokos, raise us out of the depths of sin, deliver us from hunger, destruction, fear, flood, fire, sword, encounter with strangers and mutual strife, from vain death, from attack by enemies, from destructive winds, from deadly stars, and from all evil. Grant peace and health to Thy servants, to all Orthodox Christians, enlighten them in heart and mind for salvation: and make us, O sinful servants of Thine, worthy again to receive the Body of our Lord Jesus Christ: as His kingdom is blessed and glorified with His Father, before Him, and on high, now and forever. Amen.
