Irimos:

Thou, O Lord, hast created man in Thine own image and after Thy likeness;
and Thou didst place him upon this earth to be a steward of all things.
But he fell away from Thee through the deceit of the serpent,
and became a stranger in his own house.

Thou didst raise up for us the holy Prophets, O Lord, who foretold
the coming of Thy Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to be our Saviour;
and Thou didst prepare the Apostles as vessels of mercy and truth.
But man, through his own willful disobedience,
became a servant of sin and death.

Thou hast shown us, O Lord, that true life is not in this world,
but in Thee alone; for Thou art the Life and the Resurrection.
And Thou didst give to us Thy only-begotten Son, Jesus Christ,
that through Him we might have eternal life.

Therefore, let us with compunction of heart and humility of soul
confess our sins before Thee, O Lord, and seek Thy mercy and forgiveness;
for Thou art the God of all compassion and long-suffering.
Grant us, O Lord, to walk in Thy commandments,
and to be found worthy of Thy heavenly Kingdom.

Amen.

Without beginning, O Source of our life, God and Lord, having taken flesh from the Virgin, Thou hast been made manifest to us, darkened though Thou wast to enlighten: by this we all sing Thee, O Theotokos, with great reverence.

As hath been planted on the forehead of our face, O Tree precious in Thy sight, which Thou didst command to be borne with blood and water most piously, as from the fount of piety, Thou didst moisten the ribs of Thine own self, and we, being watered thereby, have a life made manifest unto us.

Thou hast cast down the mighty, Thou hast loosed the powerful, and that which layeth low in the depths of hell, Thou hast raised up the human nature, upon Thy throne Thou hast set Jesus Christ. With Him, coming to Thee, bowing down, we glorify Thee.

Blessed be Thou, O Lord, God, Creator of the heavens and the earth, and of all things visible and invisible, for ever and ever. Amen.

Faithful, we hymn the Triune Unity, indivisibly united in essence: the Uncreated Light, the Trinitarian Dawn, which hath enlightened us with its ever-burning Light.

And He saith:

Hirmos: By God, by God, the Word:

Among the judged, because the Lamb was exalted and stood forth, O Lord, on the crown, on the brow spear-pointed, pierced in the side, Thou didst give us life, O Lover of Mankind, by Thy finger, for them that believe with faith in Thy holy Resurrection.

Whose death hath overcome the power of death by His own death, and hath raised up all believers by the resurrection from the age of the dead, to Him shall we bow down, for He giveth life and resurrection to all.

And He

Irimos: All Thy desire hath been fulfilled.

Staff of strength hath been given to nature corruptible, the Word of God in thy womb reading: and this thou hast risen, creeping even unto hell. Wherefore all-blessed thou, as we do thee honour.

Since Thou, O Master, hast deigned to receive the humble handmaiden and mother of Thy people, and all Thy manifold blessings be fulfilled for us: that we may all alike glorify Thee as a great Benefactor.
