Athebegotten Father, God and Lord, becoming incarnate from the Virgin for our salvation darkened to enlighten, gathering together the scattered: therefore with all singing we magnify the Theotokos.
As hath been planted on the holy brow, O Lord, the tree of Thy precious Cross, by blood and water divinely, as from the fount of divine purity, Thou hast refreshed our ribs, and we, being watered thereby, have a life temporal.
Thou hast humbled the mighty, Thou hast crushed the all-powerful, and that which lay low in the depths of hell, Thou hast raised up the human nature. Upon Thee, O Soul of Souls, they who come to Thee, bowing down, do glorify Thee.
Blessed be Thou, O Lord, our God, and the God of our fathers, from everlasting to everlasting.
Believing with hymns we glorify the Triune Unity, indivisibly united in One Essence: the Uncreated Light, the Trinitarian Dawn, which has enlightened us with its Everlasting Radiance.
And He saith:
O Lord God, Lord's word:
Among the judged, because the Lamb was exalted and lifted up, O Lord, on the crossbeam, on the brow beam, pierced in the side with a spear, He gave us His life-giving blood, through Thy faith, O God, for those who believe in Thine holy resurrection.
Whose death hath overcome the power of death by His own death, and hath raised up all the faithful by the resurrection from the age of the dead, even as He gave life and resurrection to all: to Him we shall bow down, and before His heavenly Majesty prostrate ourselves.
And He
Irmos: All is desired.
And a staff of strength was given to nature, the Word of God in thy womb reading: and thou didst rise again, having crept even unto hell. Therefore, all-holy, as we do thee honour.
Since Thou, O Master, hast willed to receive the humble maiden, Thy mother, as our Mother, and fulfill all Thy blessings: let us all magnify Thee as a great Benefactor.
