Irimos:
By life alone we are saved,
And by death we perish;
For life is from Thee, O Lord,
And death is to us a stranger.
Not suddenly doth compunction visit the soul,
But always it cometh with the Spirit's power.
The creature of God, man, is led astray
By delusion and deceit, for he knoweth not Thy glory.
Therefore, O Lord, our God, have mercy on us;
For Thou art the Saviour of them that hope in Thee.
Ancient waters, tasted by God's own lips, in one common dwelling mixed and divided the sea by the Israelites; this our God, highly praised, is such: for in Him alone we shall take our fill, that He may be glorified.
Who judgest the earth, after whose stripes fruit of thorns wast thou made; and from the thorn crown in thy hand, O Law-breaker, this is He, our God, received bodily, Who by oath didst break: For Thou hast glorified Thyself.
Victor and Conqueror of death, Who didst overcome death by Thy death, live: having received the mortal body alive, this is our God, and Thou didst fight with the tempter, all ye raised with Thee: for Thou hast glorified.
O Theotokos,
Verily all tongues glorify Thee, O Theotokos, without seed being born: for Thou didst enter into the holy womb in the morning, O our God, and Thou hast become incarnate among us, O God, even as man from Thy womb.
The second canon of the Resurrection. Tone 8.
Irmos: Pěsň novúju poimý ljudí:
Man's race is enslaved by the tormentor of sin, by God's precious blood He was both impurified and transformed anew: that he might glorify.
Because death, desiring death, is the treasure-house of life, O Life:
And because Thou, Immortal One by Thy very nature, hast made the dead to live:
Therefore, Thou hast glorified.
And in the holy place stood the Archangel, Gladsome Light, Ode 1.
Ich bringe Dir die dritte Psalmen-Sage, Heilige Mutter Gottes!
This hymn to Thee also.
Every knee shall bow, both of the heavenly hosts, having been incarnate from Thee, and also the earth-dwellers, being worthy and coming forth therefrom: that Thou mayest be glorified.
May I be reconciled in Thee! For the Blessed One, God, being without envy, doth give to us, His flesh taken from Thee, with exceeding gladness: for He is glorified.
