To the end, in psalms of understanding by David.

Hearken to me and give ear; for I am troubled in my sorrow, and greatly disturbed.

Fearfulness and trembling have seized me, and horror has overwhelmed me.

And my heart was troubled within me, and the fear of death fell upon me.

Fear and trembling came upon me, and darkness covered me.

And I said: Who will give me wings like a dove, that I may fly and be at rest.

Behold, I flee afar off and dwell in the wilderness; for violence and strife are present in the city.

I waited for the One who saves me from fewness and from the flood.

‹. Wickedness is in her midst; deceit and guile have no place in her streets.

For wickedness and toil go round about her walls, and injustice in her midst.

Alms not to be given in sighs and deceit.

Even though my enemy reproaches me, I bear it for his sake; and even though he hates me, he exalts himself against me—yet I will hide myself from him.

Thou therefore, man of like passion, my ruler and known to me,

Who with me in homogeneity went forth from bonds of affliction in the house of God.

Let death come upon them, and let the living be cast down into Hades; for wickedness is in their dwellings, midst of them.

I cried to the Lord, and he heard me.

At evening, at morning, and at noon I will speak and declare, and it shall be heard of my voice.

He hath put forth his hands against those at peace with me; he hath broken his covenant.

The Lord will hear; the Everlasting God will humble them: for there is no change with them, nor do they fear the Lord.

He stretched out his hand in giving; they profaned his covenant.

But He divided them by His anger, and drew near; their words were softened for oil, and they are arrows.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and He will sustain you; He will not let the righteous be put to shame forever.

Thou, O Lord, hast brought them low into a pit full of deceit: men of blood and guile shall not prolong the days of their life. And I, O Lord, do trust in Thee.
Glory:
