Bread of the Lord, take not in disdain, Thee, Thy body, and this Thy blood, precious by Thine own Master, partake of the consecrated: that I may not be judged, but may be given life eternal and immortal.

Quaking I receive the fire, that I may not be consumed as wax and as grass. Lo, the fearful mystery! Lo, the good pleasure of God! As the body and blood of the Body are partaken of tremblingly, so we become unquenchable.

O Master, Jesus Christ, Theotokos, and the Holy Spirit, our Life and Source of Immortality, Helper of all visible and invisible creatures, co-eternal with the Father, present in His uncreated Power, ever for Thy goodness manifesting Thyself among us in these last days, having taken flesh, suffered, and been buried on account of our unthankfulness and sinfulness, by Thine own Blood renewing our fallen nature: I, though unworthy, beseech Thee to receive my sinful repentance, incline Thine ear unto me, and hear the words that I speak: for I have sinned, O Lord, both against Thee and before Thee, and am not worthy to look upon the height of Thy glory. For I have provoked Thy goodness by transgressing Thy commandments and disobeying Thy will.
But Thou, O merciful, long-suffering, and full of compassion, didst not deliver me over to destruction with my iniquities, but hast waited for my repentance. For Thou spakest, O Lover of mankind: "For the desire of death is not from Thee, nor hast Thou willed the perishing of Thy creation; but Thou wilt that all be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth." Therefore I, though unworthy of earth and heaven, having lived my appointed time in sin, enslaved by pleasure, defiling Thine image: yet being created and made by Thee, I do not despair of my salvation, trusting in Thy boundless mercy. Receive me, O Lover of mankind, as a sinner, as a robber, as a tax-gatherer, and as a sinner, bearing my heavy burden of sin, the sin of this world, healing the weakness of human nature, toiling and burdened, calling and comforting, not coming to call the righteous but sinners for repentance: cleanse me from all uncleanness of body and spirit, teach me to fulfill Thy commandments in Thy passion: that with a pure conscience I may receive part of Thy Body, being united with Thy Body and Blood, and have Thee living and abiding in me, with Thy Father and Holy Spirit as my home. O Lord Jesus Christ, Theotokos, and the Holy Spirit, do not let me partake of the precious and life-giving Mysteries unworthily: but grant that even to the end of my life I may receive a portion of Thy Body without condemnation, in common fellowship, for the glory of eternal life, and in the good tidings on Thy fearful judgment: for with all those whom Thou hast prepared to love Thee, O Lord, I shall be among the uncorrupted, glorified with Thee for ever. O Lord my God, I know that I am not worthy and insufficient to enter into the sanctuary of my soul, for it is wholly empty and desolate, and there is no place in me worthy enough for Thee to bow down Thy head: but because Thou hast humbled Thyself from on high for our sakes, Thou hast bowed down and humbled Thyself even now.
And as Thou didst take up into the manger and hear the voiceless cries of the beasts: so also receive into the voiceless cries of my soul, and enter into my defiled body. And although Thou wast not worthy to enter in and spend the evening with the sinners in the house of Simon the leper: yet Thou didst will to enter into the house of my humbled soul, which is leprous and sinful.
And as Thou didst not anoint a like sinner and sinful woman who came and touched Thee: so also receive me, O Lord, who am more sinful than she, coming and touching Thee. And although Thou didst not cleanse the foul and unclean mouths of those who healed Thee: yet I will cleanse my foul and unclean lips and tongue, and my most foul and filthy speech.
But let me be a burning coal from Thy holy body, and the sweetness of Thy blood in consecration, illumination, health, and the healing of my humbled soul and body, in alleviation of many of my sins, in keeping from all evil work of the devil, in quenching and forbidding my sinful and crafty custom, in the death of passions, in the supply of Thy commandments, in the application of Thy divine gifts, and in the appropriation of Thy kingdom. For Thou dost not despise the coming to Thee of Thy people, but because Thou dost dare on account of Thine ineffable goodness: and let me not be separated from Thy communion often, being snared by the thoughtless wolf.
Therefore I pray Thee: as One alone holy, keep my soul and body, heart and bowels, and all of me, renewing them in Thee, and planting Thy fear in my right hand, making it unshakable within me. And be Thou my helper and intercessor, feeding me with the life of My soul, worthy to stand before Thee with Thy saints: by Thy prayers and the service of Thy undefiled powers, and all Thy saints, who have been blessed from eternity. O One Immortal and Unchanging Lord, for Thy ineffable mercy toward man, Thou hast received into Thyself our every mixture from the blood of the incarnate and double-natured, more than natural, Theotokos, by Thy divine and gracious presence, keeping within Thee Jesus Christ, granting peace, life, and strength. By Thy reception, O Life-giving and Saviour suffering, Thou hast conquered death, O my soul’s deathly sufferings of the body. By Thy burial, O Lord, Thou hast buried the kingdom of hell, burying my evil thoughts and counsels of deceit, and the deceitful spirits. By Thy three-day and life-giving resurrection, Thou hast raised up the fallen father, raising me also who have fallen through sin, presenting to me an image of repentance. By Thy glorious ascension, Thou hast consecrated the reception with Thy right hand, and by this Thou hast granted me to partake of Thy holy mysteries with a pure heart. By the coming of Thy Comforter in a dream, Thou hast made vessels clean, showing me Thy coming. May I again be judged of all the world by Thy righteousness, O Lord, meet Thee on the clouds as Judge and Creator of mine, with all Thy saints: that I may now and ever praise and sing to Thee, with Thy unbeginning Father and Holy Spirit, endless and glorious, life-giving house, now and forever. O Master, Jesus Christ, our God, who hast given us power to forgive sins: For thou art good and lover of mankind, despise my every sin whether known or unknown: And vouchsafe me to partake unworthily of thy divine, glorious, precious, life-giving mysteries: Not by weight, nor by suffering, nor by the addition of sins, but by cleansing, consecration, and anointing, that I may be made worthy of the hope of life and the kingdom: In thee is strength and help, in thee is resistance to adversaries, in thee is the destruction of many of my transgressions. For thou art God, full of mercy and lover of mankind: To thee we send glory, with thine eternal Father, and Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.

We know, O Lord, because unworthy we partake of Thy precious Body and Thy precious Blood; and I am guilty, and condemn myself, drinking not considering Thy Body and Blood, nor the Godhead of My God: but daring on Thy liberality, I come to Thee, saying: Give my flesh, and drink my blood, which is in me, and I in it. Have mercy upon me, O Lord, and do not reveal me as a sinner; but work with me according to Thy will: and may I be made holy by Thy healing, cleansing, enlightening, preserving, and saving, both soul and body: in the burning of all my thoughts, and of every wicked deed, and of the works of the devil, in my heart's intentions. In boldness and love towards Thee, for correction of life, and confirmation, in return to virtue and perfection: in the fulfillment of Thy commandments, in the gift of holiness, in the light of eternal life, in the glory well-pleasing on Thy fearful judgment: not into judgment or condemnation.

Mercy Thee, O Holy One, hath been newly named with God's Word:

Вѣ́си ѕѡ́лъ мно́жество, вѣ́си и҆ стрꙋ́пы моѧ̑, и҆ ꙗ҆́звы зри́ши моѧ̑: но и҆ вѣ́рꙋ вѣ́си, и҆ произволе́нїе зри́ши, и҆ воздыха́нїе слы́шиши. Не таи́тсѧ тебє̀, бж҃е мо́й, тво́рче мо́й, и҆зба́вителю мо́й, нижѐ ка́плѧ сле́знаѧ, нижѐ ка́пли ча́сть нѣ́каѧ. Несодѣ́ланное моѐ ви́дѣстѣ ѻ҆́чи твоѝ: въ кни́зѣ же твое́й и҆ є҆щѐ несодѣ̑ѧннаѧ напи̑сана тебѣ̀ сꙋ́ть. Сегѡ̀ ра́ди къ тебѣ̀ припа́даю, и҆ те́плѣ вопїю́ ти: ꙗ҆́коже блꙋ́днаго прїѧ́лъ є҆сѝ, и҆ блꙋдни́цꙋ прише́дшꙋю, та́кѡ прїими́ мѧ блꙋ́днаго и҆ скве́рнаго, ще́дре. Но сїѐ па́ки вѣ́мъ, ꙗ҆́кѡ ни вели́чество прегрѣше́нїй, ни грѣхѡ́въ мно́жество превосхо́дитъ бг҃а моегѡ̀ мно́гое долготерпѣ́нїе и҆ чл҃вѣколю́бїе кра́йнее: но млⷭ҇тїю состра́стїѧ те́плѣ ка́ющыѧсѧ, и҆ чи́стиши, и҆ свѣ́тлиши, и҆ свѣ́та твори́ши прича́стники, ѻ҆́бщники бжⷭ҇тва̀ твоегѡ̀ содѣ́ловаѧй незави́стнѡ: и҆ стра́нное и҆ а҆́гг҃лѡмъ, и҆ человѣ́чєскимъ мы́слемъ, бесѣ́дꙋеши и҆̀мъ мно́гажды, ꙗ҆́коже дрꙋгѡ́мъ твои̑мъ и҆́стиннымъ. Сїѧ̑ де́рзостна творѧ́тъ мѧ̀, сїѧ̑ вперѧ́ютъ мѧ̀, хрⷭ҇тѐ мо́й. И҆ дерза́ѧ твои̑мъ бога̑тымъ къ на́мъ бл҃годѣѧ́нїємъ, ра́дꙋѧсѧ вкꙋ́пѣ и҆ трепе́щѧ, ѻ҆гне́ви причаща́юсѧ, трава̀ сы́й, и҆ стра́нно чꙋ́до, ѡ҆роша́емь неѡпа́льнѡ, ꙗ҆́коже ѹ҆́бѡ кꙋпина̀ дре́вле неѡпа́льнѣ горѧ́щи. Ны́нѣ бл҃года́рною мы́слїю, бл҃года́рнымъ же се́рдцемъ, бл҃года́рными ѹ҆десы̀ мои́ми, дꙋшѝ и҆ тѣ́ла моегѡ̀, покланѧ́юсѧ, и҆ велича́ю, и҆ славосло́влю тѧ̀ бж҃е мо́й, ꙗ҆́кѡ бл҃гослове́на сꙋ́ща, ны́нѣ же и҆ во вѣ́ки.
Blessed are the contrite in heart, from the loathsome of heart, from the unclean tongue, from the soul defiled. Receive my prayer, O Theotokos, and despise not my words, neither my forms, nor my ignorance. Give me boldness to speak as thou wilt, O Theotokos. Moreover, teach me what is meet for me to do and to say.
I have sinned more than the harlot, who was led into her house, having bought ointment with her tears, to anoint thy feet, O my God, Master and Theotokos. As she did not faint at coming before thy heart, but rather being moved by a word: give me also to sit down at thy feet, and hold them, and kiss them, and with streams of tears, as with precious ointment, anoint them. Wipe away my tears with thine eyes, O my God, my Creator, my Deliverer, neither hide nor let fall a single tear. For thou seest the multitude of my sins: even in thy book they are not written. Behold my humility, behold my toil, and forgive all my sins, both mine and thine. That I may with clean heart, with attentive thought, and humbled soul, partake of thy pure and holy mysteries, by which all men are quickened and saved.
Verily thou hast said, O Master: every member of my flesh, and my blood, in this body remaineth, in whom also am I. Truly the Word is from thee and my God: for he who communicateth with and worships thy gifts, is not alone but with thee, Theotokos, by the threefold light, enlightening the world.
Verily, that I may not be alone remaining except for thee, the Giver of life, my breath, joy, comforter, let no one deceive me with guile, nor lead those who worship thy words astray. For this cause now I come to thee with tears and a humbled soul, to receive from thee the deliverance of my sins, and to partake of thy unspotted mysteries without condemnation.
Verily thou hast said, O Master: as thou didst receive the harlot and the penitent, so also receive me, the sinner and defiled, with great liberality. With a humbled soul I come now to thee, knowing that even as another, I have not sinned against thee, nor committed any deed in my day. But we know that neither the greatness of sin nor the multitude thereof can exceed thy many long-suffering and boundless love: but with warm compassion thou dost cleanse, enlighten, and create partakers by thine unenvying labors, as with other true ones. This boldness worketh in me, this putteth me to shame, O Theotokos.
And with thy rich gifts of grace, rejoicing together and trembling, we partake the fire, a strange wonder, being watered not with fire, as if a cup of ancient fire were burning. Now with thankful heart, with thankful soul, with my body and spirit, I bow down before thee, glorifying and magnifying thee, O my God, for thou art blessed now and forever.

O God, strengthen me, sustain me, forgive my transgressions, if I have sinned, whether by word, deed, thought, will, whether willingly or unwillingly, whether by reason or without reason; all of them forgive thou. For thou art good and lover of mankind: and with thy prayers, O Lord, through the intercessions of thy holy servants and mighty powers, and all thy saints from ages past, uncondemned in thy good pleasure receive me into thy holy temple, and my precious blood, for healing both soul and body, and for cleansing my evil thoughts. For thine is the kingdom, and power, and glory, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Not well-pleased am I, O Master God, to enter into the fold of my soul: but since thou wouldest, as a lover of man, dwell in me, daringly I approach: Thou hast commanded, that the doors, which thou alone didst create, be cast down, and entered with thy love: entering, thou enlightenest my darkened thought. I believe this to have been done by thee: for neither didst thou drive away the harlot weeping unto thee, nor cast out the sinner who had repented, nor the robber who knew thy kingdom, nor him that persecuted those who were fleeing; but from his repentance, having come to thee, all in thy face I have set up, one alone blessed always, now and for ever. O Lord Jesus Christ, my God, strengthen me, sustain me, cleanse me and forgive me my sins, whether they be of youth or of the present day, whether in thought or word or deed, whether in the beginning or end of them, and all my feelings.
And by thy seedless prayers born, O Thou who art most pure and holy, grant me to partake with one unblamable and firm confidence of Thy mysteries, O Saviour, unto life eternal: in truth, illumination, strength, healing, health of soul and body, and the consumption of my evil thoughts, intentions, and night-time imaginings, those dark and deceitful spirits:

Before the doors of thy temple, O Lord, I stand, and do not depart from evil thoughts: but thou, O God, didst save the righteous tax-gatherer, and hadst mercy on the harlot, and didst overturn the doors for the robber, and overturn to me the gates of thy merciful love, and receive me coming unto thee, as a sinner, and one bleeding: I kiss thy holy feet, and in them find sweet healing. And with my hands I hold fast thy holy nose, and obtain release from sins. For thou art blessed for ever and ever. Amen.

O Soul, Thou hast been sweetened by the love of Christ, and changed by Thy divine care: but I fell into the fire of spiritual sin, and Thou wilt be filled with the enjoyment thereof, that I may glorify Thee more greatly, appearing nigh unto Thy presence.
