Believing, therefore I cried: I also have been made humble. I also said in my affliction: Every man is a lie. What shall I render to the Lord for all this? For He hath taken it; I will take the cup of salvation and call upon the Name of the Lord: I will render my prayers before the Lord for all men. The reading before the Lord of the Venerables. O Lord, I thy servant, I thy servant, and son of thy handmaid: Thou hast rent asunder my bonds. To Thee also will I offer a sacrifice of praise, and in Thee will I call upon the Name of the Lord: I will render my prayers before the Lord for all men, within His courts, among Thy priests, in the midst of Thee, O King.

When the glorious Apostles were enlightened on the eve of the Lord's Supper, then Judas, filled with covetousness and unwell from greed, was darkened by avarice; and, being without law, he delivered himself as a just judge to judgment.

O Ruler, for such things didst Thou suffer hunger pangs! O Teacher, daring to entreat thus: And all the blessed ones, where is Thy glory?

Irmos: Ye people, take up the song of the Lord, which divided the sea and instructed men, that they might be brought forth out of Egyptian bondage, that they might be glorified.

Let the bread of life, ever-living, be my body, O holy Lord, and Thy precious blood, and healing of manifold diseases.

Wounded by unclean lips, I, unworthy of partaking of Thy precious and life-giving Body and Blood, beseech Thee, O Lord: grant me to partake thereof.

Response: The Theotokos, save us.

Earth blessed, blessed by God's holy word, class profaned not by unregenerate and saving world, vouchsafe to me today to find salvation.

Yirmós: On the stones of faith I have been made firm, and Thou hast enlarged my lips against my enemies. For joy hath my soul arisen, when I say: There is none like unto God our King, nor any who is brought forth before Him.

Let Thy holy tears fall upon my eyes, purifying the wickedness of my heart: that I may be cleansed with a good conscience, coming in faith and fear before Thee, to partake of Thy divine gifts.

Response: Do not cast me off from Thy face, and let Thy mercy depart not from me.

In the confession of my greater sinfulness, O Lover of mankind, and in the shedding of Thy precious blood, let there be also general communion, and into eternal life, estrangement from passions and sorrows.

Pripev: Preshta Theotokos, spasynas.

The table of life-giving bread is laid out, above the mercy of having come down, and to me now it has given a new life of the world, and I, unworthy, have now been made worthy to partake with fear, and to live.

Irmos: Thou didst come down from heaven, not by an angel, but Thyself didst take on flesh and didst deign to become man. Therefore do we call thee: glory be to thy power, O Lord.

Wishing to see us through the Incarnation, Thou wert willing to be slain for our sake, O Lover of mankind, by sin: therefore I beseech Thee, and my soul cleanse our transgressions.

Pripev: Ne ovrji meně́ ō litsà tvoegà, i da tvoegà stága ne ommi menè.

Heal my soul, O Lord, according to thy name, and all my flesh: that I may be worthy to partake of the mysteries of thy divine Supper, O Remembered One.

Pripev: Preshta Theotokos, spasynas.

Mercifully grant me, O Lady, the creature from thy womb, Master, to keep me blameless and unblemished, that I may receive the wise counsel, having been instructed.

Yirmos: Brightener of light and Creator of ages, O Lord, in the light of Thy commandments guide us: for indeed by Thee alone we know not.

As thou hast foretold, O Lord, that evil would come to thy servant and abide within me: for thou hast promised, saying: Lo, this is the body of thine, and I drink thy blood.

Response: Do not cast me off from Thy face, O Lord, and let Thy mercy depart not from me.

Word of God and of the Spirit, O my soul, may thy body be darkened in enlightenment, and the cleansing of my defiled spirit by thy blood.

Response: The Theotokos, save us.

Blessed be Thee, O Mother of God, most holy and sweetly fragrant dwelling, by thy prayers make me the chosen vessel, that I may partake worthily of Thyself.

Yirmós: In the abyss of sins most deep, calling upon the unsearchable mercy of Thee in the abyss, O Lord: from the flame of Thy wrath lift me up.

O Soul and heart, and spirit of mine, and body, be thou made worthy to approach unspeakably to the fearful mysteries.

Response: Do not cast me off from Thy face, O Lord, and let Thy mercy depart not from me.

Let me be far removed from passions, and may I have the attainment of Thy mercy; and may my life be strengthened through partaking of the holy mysteries of Thy sacraments.

Bread of the Lord, Thee take not despise, Thy body and Thy precious blood, shed for us by Thine own Master, partake of the consecrated: that I may not be judged, but may be in life eternal and immortal.

O Fount of blessings, Communicator, O Theotokos, today partaking of thy holy mysteries, let us be light, life, and impassibility, and for the repose and increase of virtue most fervently entreat thee alone, as I glorify thee.

Delivered from passions, enemies, necessities, and all sorrows, with fear and love, with gladness, O Lover of Mankind, now approach unto Thy immortal and life-giving mysteries, and be thou able to sing: Blessed art Thou, O God, Father of ours.

Thank thee, O Birthgiver of God, more glorious than the cherubim and more honorable than the seraphim; I, thy servant now, beseech thee, who art pure: cleanse me wholly from the filthiness of body and spirit, who desireth now to approach the precious mysteries.

Irmos: Into the fiery furnace with the three Hebrew youths who descended, and the flame upon the roses kindled of God, sing ye works of the Lord, and exalt them for ever.

Heavenly and dreadful and holy are thy mysteries, O Lord, now manifest, and thy divine and secret vigils to partake of the common lot, Thou hast made me worthy, O Saviour.

To Thee, O Most Merciful Theotokos, we flee with bold confidence, calling upon Thee in fear: In me abide, save me, as I cried to Thee: For I dare to rely on Thy mercy, for Thou art my Body and I drink Thy Blood.

Pripev: Prestája trěsče bže nash', sláva tebe.

Quaking I receive the fire, that I may not be consumed as wax and as grass. Lo, the fearful mystery! Lo, the good pleasure of God! As the body and blood of the Incarnate One I partake quakingly, and I become unquenchable.

Yirmos: Without beginning, Parent of the Son, God and Lord, becoming incarnate from the Virgin for our salvation, darkened to be enlightened, gathered what was scattered: therefore we with all sing thee, Theotokos, in great glory.

Christ is with us, taste and see: the Lord hath appeared for our sake, having come before us in His only-begotten Son, ever purifying those who partake thereof.

Response: Do not cast me off from Thy face, O Lord, and let Thy mercy depart not from me.

O Soul and body, let us be made thy servants, enlightened, saved, becoming Thy dwelling through partaking of the sacred Mysteries, abiding in Thee with the Father and the Son, O Goodness of great grace.

Response: Receive from Thee joy for the salvation Thou hast brought, and establish me in the house of my Lady.

As fire is to me, O my Body, and light the very body of Thine, and precious blood shed for me: falling upon sinful matter, consuming passions with thorns, and enlightening me wholly, I shall prostrate myself before Thy Divinity.

Response: The Theotokos, save us.

God hath been incarnate from thy holy bloods, therefore every creature singeth thee, O Lady, and manifoldly glorifieth, for by thee all saw the manifested one, who was made man.

It is meet and right indeed to bless Thee, O Most Blessed Theotokos, ever-virgin, and to magnify Thee, O pure and immaculate, Mother of God our Saviour. More glorious than the cherubim, and beyond compare more radiant than the seraphim, thou who art in thy very essence the bearer of God, we magnify thee with hymns most sweet.

Grant us forgiveness, O Lord: cleanse our sins; Master, forgive our lawlessness; Venerable, visit and heal the sick among us for Thy Name's sake.

Our Father, who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.

Merciful Lord, have mercy on us: for all of us are unwise in sin, and this our prayer we offer before Thee as sinners. Have mercy on us.

Glory to Thee, and to Thy Son, and to Thy Holy Spirit.

O Lord, have mercy upon us, for in thee we have trusted: let not thy wrath light upon us, nor count our transgressions against us; but look upon us now with a favourable eye and deliver us from our enemies: thou art God our King, and we thy people, all our works are by thine hand, and to thee we cry.

And now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

Mercy be unto the doors of our salvation, O Theotokos: trusting in thee let us not perish, but by thy help be delivered from tribulations: for thou art the Saviour of the race of Christians.

Lord, have mercy. [Thou.] And bowings, as thou wilt.

With fear draw nigh, that thou fall not: for fire is it.

Thus let us pray with fear and trembling.

Master, O Lord Jesus Christ, our Life and Source of immortality, Helper of all visible and invisible creatures, co-eternal with the Father, present in His uncreated Power, yet without beginning, for many days having taken flesh and being crucified, buried, and rising again for us, sinners and unworthy, by Thy precious Blood renewing our nature corrupted by sin: Thou, O Immortal King, receive my sinful repentance, incline Thine ear to me, and hear my words: I have sinned, O Lord, having sinned against Thee and before Thee, and am not worthy to look upon the height of Thy glory. I provoked Thy goodness by transgressing Thy commandments and disobeying Thy will. But Thou, O merciful, long-suffering, and full of compassion, didst not deliver me over to destruction with my unrighteousness, but hast willed all to be saved, in truth and righteousness. Therefore also I, though unworthy of earth and these temporal life, having confessed myself guilty before Thee, having enslaved myself by pleasure, and defiled Thy image: yet as Thine creation and work, not despairing of my salvation, relying on Thy boundless mercy, I boldly approach Thee. Receive me, O Lover of mankind, as a sinner, as a robber, as a tax collector, and as a sinner, bearing my heavy burden of sins, the sin of this world, and healing the weakness of human nature, striving and burdened, calling upon Thee and comforting, not coming to call the righteous, but sinners for repentance: cleanse me from all uncleanness of body and spirit, and teach me to fulfill Thy commandments in Thy passion: that I may receive with a pure conscience the parts of Thy Body, being united with Thy Body and Blood, and have Thee living and abiding in me, with Thy Father and Spirit. Thou, O Lord Jesus Christ, be mine, and let not my soul and body partake of the precious and life-giving Mysteries unworthily: but grant that even until my last breath I may receive a portion of Thy Body, in common fellowship, as an instruction for eternal life, and in the blessed light at Thy fearful judgment: that also with all those whom Thou hast chosen, I may be partaker of Thine uncorrupted glory, which Thou hast prepared for them who love Thee. Amen.

O Lord my God, I know, indeed, that I am not worthy and insufficient to enter into the sanctuary of my soul today, for it is wholly empty and withered; and there is no place in me worthy enough for Thee to bow Thy head: but as Thou didst humble Thyself from on high for our sakes, so also now humiliate Thyself with my humility. And as Thou wast born in a manger and heard the voiceless beasts: thus receive into the voiceless voice of my soul, and enter into my defiled body.

And as Thou wast not worthy to enter and spend the evening with the sinners in Simon the leper's house: so also Thou didst will to enter into the house of my humbled soul, which is leprous and sinful. And as Thou didst not anoint a like sinner and unclean woman who came and touched Thee: thus Thou didst forgive me, O Lord, being sinners, coming and touching Thee.

And as Thou didst not cleanse the foul and impure lips of those, but mine own foul and impure lips and my most abominable tongue. But may I be a coal from Thy holy fire in my body, and the purity of Thy blood through sanctification, illumination, health, and the healing of my humbled soul and body, in the alleviation of many of my sins, in the keeping off all devilish works, in the quenching and forbidding of mine own sinful and crafty habit, in the mortifying of passions, in the supplying of Thy commandments, in the application of Thy divine grace, and in the possession of Thy kingdom. For Thou dost not despise the coming to Thee of Thy people, but daring on Thy ineffable goodness: and may I not by much withdrawing from Thy communion, be snared by the thoughtless wolf.

Therefore, I beseech Thee: as One alone holy, sanctify my soul and body, heart and bowels, and all of me, root out Thy fear in my hands, and let Thy purity remain unshaken within me. Be Thou my helper and intercessor, feeding me with the life of my soul, worthy to stand before Thee with Thy saints: through Thy holy prayers, and the service of Thy undefiled servants, and all Thy saints, from age to age. Amen.

O One Immortal and Unchanging Lord, for Thy ineffable love of mankind, Thou hast received into Thyself our every mixture from the bloods and spirits, more than nature-born, by Thine own divine presence, by Thy heavenly Host, preserving us in Thy kingdom, peace, and power. By Thy reception, O Life-giving and Saviour suffering, Thou dost conquer death, O my soul’s life-giving sufferings of the body. By Thy burial, O Lord, Thou hast buried the king of hell, laying to rest my good thoughts of deceitful counsel and craftiness. By Thy three-day and life-giving resurrection, Thou hast raised up the fallen father, raising me who have fallen in sin, presenting an image of repentance before Thee. By Thy glorious ascension, Thou hast sanctified the reception by the flesh, and with the right hand of Thy Father, Thou hast granted me to partake of Thy holy mysteries with a pure heart. By the coming of Thy Comforter, O Lord, Thou hast made vessels of honor, showing me Thy presence. May I again be judged by Thee in righteousness throughout the universe, O Lord, and meet Thee on the clouds, Judge and Creator of my being, with all Thy holy ones: that I may now and ever praise Thee with Thy unending Father and throne, and with Thy glorious home, now and forever. Amen.

O Master, Jesus Christ, our God, who hast given us power to forgive sins unto men: For thou art good and lover of mankind, and dost despise all my offenses whether known or unknown: And vouchsafe me to partake unworthily of thy divine, glorious, precious, and life-giving mysteries: Not for the burden, nor for the pain, nor for the addition of sins, but for the cleansing, and consecration, and anointing, that I may be made worthy of the hope of life and resurrection: In thee is strength and help, in thee is resistance to adversaries, in thee is the destruction of many of my transgressions. For thou art God, full of mercy and lover of mankind: To thee we send glory, with thine eternal and glorious Church, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Mercy, O Virgin most pure:

We know, O Lord, that unworthy we are to partake of Thy precious Body and Blood; and we confess our guilt, judging ourselves and drinking, not pondering the Body and Blood of Thy Christ: but daring on account of Thy bounty, we have come to Thee, saying: Give my flesh, and drink my blood, which is in me. Have mercy on us, O Lord, and do not judge me, a sinner; but work with me according to Thy will: and may I be made holy by Thee, for healing, cleansing, enlightenment, preservation, salvation, and the glorification of soul and body: in the anguish of all my thoughts, and of the evil deeds, and of the works of the devil, in my heart's thoughts. In boldness and love towards Thee, for correction of life and establishment, return to virtue and perfection: in the fulfillment of Thy commandments, in common prayer, in guidance of eternal life, in the light blessedly pleasing on Thy fearful judgment: not into judgment or condemnation.

O Lord, cleanse me from evil thoughts, from the filthiness of a wicked heart, from an unclean tongue, from my soul. Receive my prayer, Theotokos, and despise not my words, neither my forms, nor my ignorance. Give me boldness to speak as Thou wilt, Theotokos. Teach me also what is fitting for me to do and to say. I have sinned more than a harlot; yet Thou hast led me into the place where Thou abidest, having bought ointment with which Thou didst anoint my nostrils, O Lord, Master and Theotokos. As He who came not from the heart of man, but being moved by Thy word: give to my nostrils, hold them, kiss them, and with tears flow like a precious ointment, cover me boldly. Wipe away my tears with them, cleanse me with them: leave aside my transgressions, and grant me repentance. Weigh out for me the multitude of sins, weigh out also my chains; and by Thy sight see mine: but also have faith weighed out, and the will see, and the sighing hear. Do not hide from Thee, O My Maker, Saviour, and Intercessor, a single tear drop or part thereof. Thou seest my unrighteousness, Thou seest my toil, and all my sins, O Lord, all of them: that I may receive with a clean heart, with attentive thought, and with a contrite soul the unspotted mysteries, by which I am quickened and sanctified. For truly Thou hast said, Master: every body and blood of Mine is in this body of Thine; for in it I abide, and in it also am I. Verily, verily, Thou art the Light of the world, O Lord, Son of God: by partaking of Thy mysteries and worshipping Thee with blessings, I am not alone, but together with Thee, O my Lord, a threefold light enlightening the world. For in Thee shall not abide alone the unspotted, but he who is seduced by the deceitful will of the unchaste, and led astray by Thy words of blessing. Therefore I now come to Thee with tears, with a contrite heart, beseeching Thee to receive my supplication for the forgiveness of my transgressions, and to partake of Thy undefiled mysteries without condemnation. For as Thou hast said, come unto Me: even so receive me, O Lord, who am unclean and filthy, more generously. With a contrite heart I now approach Thee, knowing that I have not sinned against Thee, nor committed any deed in the day, but I have done it. But we know also that neither the greatness of transgressions nor the multitude of sins surpasseth Thy manifold long-suffering and extreme love for man: but with warm compassion Thou dost cleanse, enlighten, and make bright those who partake of Thy mysteries without envy; and many times Thou speakest to them both by human thought and by angelic speech. This boldness worketh in me, this putteth me forth, Theotokos. By Thy rich blessings, rejoicing together with fear, being burned by the fire of partaking, like green grass and a strange wonder, watered not by fire, as if a cup of ancient unquenchable fire. Now with thankful heart, with a grateful soul, with my lips, body and soul, I bow down before Thee, glorifying Thee, O My Lord, because Thou art blessed now and forever.

Mercy, O John the Golden-Throated:

O God, strengthen me, preserve me, forgive my transgressions, if I have sinned, whether by word, deed, thought, willfully or unwillingly, knowingly or unknowingly; all these things forgive me, for Thou art good and lover of mankind: and by Thy prayers, O Merciful, through the holy ministers and powers of Thee, and all the holy powers from ages past, who have been well-pleasing to Thee with unblameworthy and righteous bodies, receive not my unworthy and blameless body, nor my precious blood, for healing both soul and body, and for cleansing my wicked thoughts. For Thou art the Church, and strength, and glory, with Thy holy and mighty house, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.

I am not satisfied, O Lord, that I enter into the shelter of my soul: but since thou wouldest be a lover of mankind in me, daring to approach: Thou hast commanded, and thou hast overturned the doors, which thou didst create alone, and entered with thy lovingkindness: entering and enlightening my darkened mind. I believe this thou hast done: for neither by a harlot coming to thee with tears didst thou drive her away, nor by a sinner who had repented, didst thou reject him, nor by a robber knowing thy kingdom didst thou drive him away, nor by persecutors didst thou abandon those who had persecuted thee: but from their repentance coming to thee, thou hast set all before thy face, one alone blessed always, now and for ever. Amen.

O Lord Jesus Christ, my God, strengthen me, sustain me, cleanse me and forgive me my sins, whether they be of will or of thought, whether in words or deeds, whether in intentions or thoughts and beginnings thereof, and all my feelings.

And by thy seedless prayers born, O Thou who art higher than the heavens, surpassing and being made manifest in thine holy mysteries, one undefiled hope and intercessor and salvation for me, grant that I may partake unsullied of those seedless, life-giving, fearful mysteries, into which entrance is given only through forgiveness of sins and into eternal life: into fulfillment, enlightenment, strength, healing, health of soul and body, and in the consumption and complete destruction of my evil thoughts, intentions, and night-time imaginings, those dark and deceitful spirits:

For Thou art the King, and power, and glory, and worship, with Thy merciful and holy Theotokos, and the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and to the ages of ages. Amen.

Mercy, O holy John Damascus:

Before the doors of thy temple, O Lord, I stand, and do not depart from evil thoughts: but thou, O God, didst save the penitent publican, and had mercy on the Canaanite woman, and cast down the gates to the robber, and hast cast down mine obtruding prayers, which are full of thy love for man, and receive me coming unto thee, as a sinner, and a bleeding one: by touching thy holy hands I shall receive healing pleasure; but by holding thy precious nostrils, I shall obtain release from my sins. For I, having been smitten, dare to take all thine body, that I may not fall: but receive me as the blind, and enlighten my soul's senses, which have fallen into my sinful guilt through prayers without seed, giving birth to thee, and of heavenly powers: for blessed art thou in ages of ages. Amen.

I believe, Lord, and confess, for Thou art truly the Son of God, living and coming into the world sinners to save me, the first among many. And I also believe that this is Thy most precious body, and this is Thy own precious blood. I pray Thee therefore: forgive me, and blot out my transgressions, both voluntary and involuntary, by word, by deed, by knowledge and by ignorance, and grant me to partake unworthily of Thy most holy mysteries, in remission of sins, and into eternal life. Amen.

Come then and partake, they said within themselves the following metaphrastic stichos:

I approach the divine communion with all my heart.

Cooperator, let not thy cooperation fail me by common prayer:

For we are indeed unworthy to enter.

NB: The word "ɲόγνь" (fire) is used here as a metaphor for the divine presence or grace, but in this context, it is rendered as "we are indeed unworthy," maintaining the liturgical register and meaning.

But cleanse me from all wickedness.

Everest are Thy mysteries of today, O God, for the sake of the Theotokos, receive me as a fellow partaker: I do not wish to reveal Thy mysteries to my enemies, nor would I give them over to thieves, but rather to the robber who confesses to You: remember me where Thou dost dwell in Thy Kingdom.

O Master, lover of mankind, God, Jesus Christ, Theotokos, and Holy Spirit, into Thy sanctuary and consecration of soul and body, and in the putting on of the future life and glory. For me, however, whatever is laid up by Thee is good, to place hope in my salvation.

And again: Thy mysteries today, O Lord, are made manifest to Thy servants; for the宝塔落了,我该如何重新排列它的块?
