Во́льною и҆ животворѧ́щею твое́ю сме́ртїю хрⷭ҇тѐ, / врата̀ а҆́дѡва сокрꙋши́въ ꙗ҆́кѡ бг҃ъ, / ѿве́рзлъ є҆сѝ на́мъ дре́внїй ра́й, и҆ воскр҃съ и҆з̾ ме́ртвыхъ, / и҆зба́вилъ є҆сѝ ѿ тлѣ́нїѧ живо́тъ на́шъ.
By Thy free and life-giving death, O Lord, Thou hast crushed the gates of Hades, for Christ’s sake;
Thou hast overturned for us the ancient paradise,
and by Thy resurrection from the dead,
Thou hast saved our mortal life.
