Vespers upon my humble soul, visit Thee, O Lord, in all my sins ever longing: by the likeness of the harlot receive me and save me.
Glory: Swiftly shall we meet in the Bridechamber of Christ, that all may hear the blessed voice of our Lord God: Come ye, who love the heavenly glory; having partaken with the wise virgins, let us kindle our lamps with faith.
O Soul, now: Before thy going forth, repentance is a judge unmeasured to the sinful, and insupportable; cry aloud to the Lord with compunction of heart: I have sinned in knowledge and in ignorance, O Merciful, by Thy mercies be gracious unto me, and save me.
O Lord, have mercy, and grant peace:
Thee, O Lord, alone blessed and unmeasurably holy, I confess my sins unto Thee, unworthy as I am: I have sinned, I have sinned, and I am not worthy to lift up mine eyes toward the height of the heavenly glory because of the multitude of my iniquities. But Thou, O Lord, Thyself, grant me.
Teardrops of compunction, O nearest and most merciful, that by them I may entreat Thee to be cleansed before the end from all sin: for it is fearful and terrible the place where they go, bodies being separated, and a multitude of my dark and inhuman demons will meet me, and none shall be with me as a helper.
And Thou, who deliverest. By this I cleave to Thy holiness, do not deliver me into the hands of my adversaries, lest they mock at me in Thy holy presence and say: Into our hands has He come, and He is delivered up to us.
O Lord, do not forget Thy mercies, nor render unto me according to my sins.
Mine, and let not Thy face depart from me, but Thou, O Lord, chasten me with Thy mercies and tenderly. Let my enemy rejoice over me nor exalt himself against me, but quench him in the dust of my humiliation, and make all his works empty, and give me a path blameless before Thee, O Lord: for thou art ever mindful of mercy.
And having sinned, I did not flee to another physician, nor stretched out my hand to a foreign God. Do not reject my supplications, but hear me with Thy goodness, and establish my heart in fear of Thee, that Thy mercy may be upon me, O Lord, for the fire having fallen upon unclean things.
In me are thoughts. Thou art, O Lord, above all light: brighter than all brightness; sweeter than all joys; peace surpassing all peace: true life and salvation, abiding for evermore, Amen.
