Hearken unto my humble soul, O Lord, in its striving and living all my days in sins: by the likeness of the harlot receive me and save me.

Glory: Swiftly shall we meet in the Bridechamber of Christ, that we may all hear the blessed voice of our Lord God: Come ye, beloved of heavenly glory, having partaken with the wise virgins, enlightening our faith by our obedience.

O Soul, now repent before thy going out, for the judgment is unmeasurable to the sinner and intolerable; cry aloud to the Lord with compunction of heart: I have sinned in knowledge and in ignorance, O Merciful One, receive me by Thy mercies and save me.

O Lord, have mercy, and grant peace:

Thee, O Lord, alone holy and unassailable, I confess my sins unto Thee, unworthy as I am: I have sinned, O Lord, and I am not worthy to lift up mine eyes toward the height of the heavenly glory because of the multitude of my iniquities. But Thou, O Lord, my Lord, grant me.

Tears of compunction, O nearest and most merciful, that by them I may entreat Thee, and be cleansed before the end from all sin: for it is fearful and terrible the place where I must go, the bodies being separated, and a multitude of my dark and inhuman demons will meet me; and there shall be none to help with companionship.

And Thou, who deliverest. By this I cleave to Thy holiness, do not deliver me into the hands of my adversaries, lest they mock at me in Thine holy name, and say: Into our hands hath He delivered Himself, and He is given up unto us. Remember thee, O Lord, upon Thy mercy, and let not mine enemies triumph over me.

Mine, and let not Thy face depart from me, but Thou, O Lord, chasten me with Thy mercies and tenderly. Let my enemy rejoice over me nor exalt himself against me, but quench him in my reproach, and let all his devices be frustrate. And give me an open path to Thee, good Lord: for thoukest Thou not?

And having sinned, I did not flee to another physician, nor stretched out my hand to a strange God. Do not reject my supplication, but hear me with Thy blessedness, and establish my heart in Thy fear, that Thy mercy may be upon me, O Lord, for the fire hath fallen upon the unclean.

In me are thoughts. Thou art, O Lord, above all light: brighter than all brightness; sweeter than all joys; peace surpassing all peace: true life and salvation, abiding for evermore, Amen.
