Wide is the way that leads to destruction and pleasure-making, but bitter will it be in the last day, when the soul from the body shall be parted: beware of these, man, for the sake of the Theotokos.

Why hast thou forgotten God; for hire holdest thou back thy neighbour; not loved thou thy brother; from sin and pride dost thou drive him; leave, O my soul, to repentance for the sake of Jesus Christ.

O senseless man, until when wilt thou gather for thyself the wealth of bees; soon shalt thou perish as dust and ashes: but rather seek the Kingdom of God.

O Theotokos, have mercy on me, a sinner, and strengthen me in good deeds, and keep me, that the shameless death may not seize me unprepared, and lead me, O King, to thy throne.
