Yirmos: Jesus Christ my strength, / God and Lord, / the holy church / sings with uplifted voice, / pure in meaning, rejoicing on high.
Refrain: Have mercy on me, O Lord, have mercy on me.
Wide is the way that leads to destruction and pleasure-making, but bitter will it be in the last day when the soul shall be separated from the body: watch thou therefrom, man, for the sake of the Theotokos' glory.
Refrain: Have mercy on me, O Lord, have mercy on me.
Why hast thou forgotten God; for hire thou holdest back the wages; thy brother thou lovest not; sin and pride thou drivest away; O my soul, leave off this, and repent for the Theotokos' sake.
Refrain: Have mercy on me, O Lord, have mercy on me.
O senseless man, until when wilt thou gather for thyself the wealth of bees; soon shalt thou perish as dust and ashes: but rather seek the Kingdom of God.
Refrain: Having lifted up Thy holy hands, save us.
Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me, a sinner, and strengthen me in virtues, and keep me, that the shameless death may not seize me unprepared, and bring me, O King, to the vision of Thy Theotokos.
