Iitchensítev. Yeóni védiy.

Thou wast ancient before Abraham, O Word of God, truest Image of Thee: and verily we sing Thee, O Only-Begotten, in one Essence with Thee, the Godhead, most true; as also Thou didst reveal Thyself: and we believe in Thee, O Monarch, and Trisulphuric.

To Thee, O Merciful One, ever-living Father, hast Thou begotten without taint the Son, Who is the Light from Light, most sure and eternal, and the Holy Spirit, the Light: we reverently bow down with faith, and glorify.

Thrice-holy, ineffable, surpassing understanding, by the unutterable glory of Thyself the intelligences glorify Thee with a thrice-voiced hymn unceasingly praising Thee: with them we together sing in harmony the Triune Lord.

O Theotokos,

By Thee, in time without seed, came forth the hidden and visible, conforming to our invisible nature, and teaching us by His only will and word, O Spirit, Lord, and King: therefore we glorify Thee.

SelaLEN:

O Soul, sorrowful for thy transgressions,
ponder well and weep sorely.

For thou hast sinned against Him who is good,
and hast brought upon thyself the wrath of God.

Thou hast despised His mercies,
and hast not known the fear of God.

Therefore, with compunction of heart
weep thou, O Soul, for thy transgressions.

For suddenly and unexpectedly shall come
the judgment of God upon thee.

And when He cometh to judge thee,
thou shalt stand before Him in shame.

Thou art a stranger in this world,
and hast no power over the things thereof.

Thou art but a spectacle to all men,
a laughingstock, a byword among them.

For thou art a creature of God,
made for His glory and not for thine own pride.

Thou hast deceived thyself with guile,
thinking that thou canst hide from Him.

But He seeth thee in the darkness,
and knoweth thy thoughts as they were spoken.

Therefore, O Soul, humble thyself
before the Lord, and seek His mercy.

For His righteousness is ever present,
and His glory shall be revealed to all.

And though thou hast sinned much,
yet His mercy is great and unmeasured.

Seek not vain things, but turn to Him,
for He is the true King, the Saviour of souls.

Therefore, O Soul, with all thy might
cry unto Him for deliverance from sin.

Thou art like: Thy grave hath saved thee.

Let us bow down to Thee, O Lord, and Thee, O Spirit, with right worship and equal honor, glory to the Uncreated and Immutable Power that glorifies the incorporeal hosts: today we, both earth-born, shall reverently extol Thee with fear.

Glory, and now, O Theotokos:

Stablish us on the way of repentance, O Lord, turning us always to the unerring light of Thy face, and to that which provoketh not Thine ever-present wrath, unspeakably blessed in Thine ineffable mercy, our refuge and dwelling-place, O God.
