God and Father, Creator and Preserver of all creatures! Bless my poor children with your Holy Spirit, may He kindle in them the true fear of God, which is the beginning of wisdom and direct prudence, according to which whoever acts, his praise abides forever. Bless them with true knowledge of You, keep them from all trouble. And make sure that they continue to the end in true saving faith and in all godliness. Grant them a believing, obedient, humble heart, wisdom and intelligence. Plant in their hearts love for Your Divine Word, so that they may be reverent in prayer and worship, true in words, faithful in deeds, diligent in work, meek, and kind to all people. Keep them from all the temptations of the evil world. Be their protector in every danger, so that they do not suffer sudden destruction. May they always give you honor, praise and glory.
Father Macarius advised Orthodox women who could not bear a child to pray at home like this:
Remember, O Lord who loves mankind, the baby who died in my womb from unknown actions; baptize him, O Lord, in the sea of Your bounties and save him with Your ineffable grace!
