Lord, I remember that the Holy Scripture says: Better is a long-suffering man than a strong man, and one who restrains his anger than one who lays down hail (Proverbs 16:32). My God! When will my heart finally be clothed in the weapon of patience! When I finally begin to endure every trouble with a calm heart, may my God rejoice over me! I remember the words of the Apostle James: Blessed is the man who endures temptation (James 1:12). Oh, how beloved are you to me, sorrows that make me like my Lord Jesus, who suffered for me! My Jesus! Grant me at least sometimes to live peacefully among a thousand sorrows, glory for the sake of Your name! Blessed will I be if, even in the midst of the fire of sorrows, I am inflamed with the desire to endure even greater suffering!
