Lord our God, Almighty God, All-Generous and All-Merciful, in the Old Testament Your chosen people for forty years in the desert were miraculously nourished and through Your prophet Elijah in the days during the great famine, the widow of Zarephath multiplied flour and oil; in the New Testament, with five loaves, five thousand, and also with seven loaves, four thousand, satisfying and in subsequent times Through the faith and prayer of Your servants You have performed such miracles! Look now with Your merciful eye on us, Your sinful servants, have mercy on us and deliver us from the famine that threatens us; Do it according to Your Omnipotence: may the food we need not become scarce, may our life not perish without use.

Bless, Lord, our bread and all that we eat, and multiply it in our homes and among all those who have mercy on us, who feed us and do good to us. Make sure that the food we eat, even in small quantities, has sufficient nutritional power, so that our body does not weaken, and our health is preserved, and our spirit does not become despondent. We accept all help from You, we trust in You and we send glory to You, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
