Saintly Angel, my Guardian, pray to God for me.

Mercy to the guardian angel:

Saint Angel of the Theotokos, to thee I am drawing near in my prayer, O guardian of mine, given to me for the keeping of my soul and body from the stain of sin by holy Baptism. By my own slothfulness and my own tongue, I have provoked thy precious light with my customary offenses: lies, slanders, envy, accusations, contempt, disobedience, hatred of brother, gluttony, avarice, drunkenness, much speaking, vain thoughts, proud habit, and wanton indulgence; I have made my self-will the desire for every carnal pleasure. As a mere brute, without reason, does not do what it pleases! How canst thou look upon me or come to me as one who reeks of filth? With thine eyes, O Angel of the Theotokos, look upon me, entwining me in thy holy prayers; that I may be able to ask for forgiveness with bitter and vain and deceitful deeds, in which I fall every day and night, at all times; but I pray to thee, O guardian of mine, O holy one, have mercy on this sinful and unworthy servant [and disciple], be my helper and intercessor against the adversary, by thy holy prayers and as a partaker in the sacrifice of the King, make me worthy now and always and for ever. Amen.
