Once upon a time you defended your city from the Svei, O Mother of God, you showed us mercy, turning away the righteous anger and rebuke of God from the Russian land, and so in the region of the north of your all-honorable face you glorified the image, shedding visible tears for our great-grandfathers, from the adversary at war. You gave the same health to the blind and demonic from sowing many icons, and through Your intercession you stopped the pestilence that had come to people and the pestilence that had come to livestock. Even now You pour out streams of mercy to everyone with undoubted faith in Your all-powerful help to those who come running. Listen to our prayer, and direct the path of our earthly wandering, leading us to this eternal life. Likewise, protect the people of the church from the snares of false prophets and false teachers who prey on the mind of God, and grant us all purity of thoughts. Even if our tears and prayers are not sufficient to cleanse our sins, but may Your omnipotent intercession be added to these, in which we hope, we glorify the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto the ages of ages.
