You are burning in heaven, but we are on earth below, being removed from you not only by place, but by our sinful uncleanness. Moreover, remembering your fatherly love for your kindred people, we fall down and pray to you with tenderness and faith: help us sinners to be cleansed by repentance and worthy of being pardoned and forgiven by our Lord and Creator. implore His goodness to grant us great and rich mercies: fruitfulness of the earth, goodness of the air, deep peace, sincere brotherly love, unfeigned piety, contentment with everyday needs, and may we not turn into evil the good things given to us from His generous right hand, but for the glory of His holy name and for our salvation. Preserve, saint of God, through the intercession of your saints, in health and long life our blessed sovereign, Emperor Nikolai Alexandrovich of all Russia, and his entire reigning house, punishing under his nose all enemies and adversaries.
