Having the wealth of grace, you were raised by the spirit to heaven, Father Silouan, and there you were deemed worthy to behold the face of the all-forgiving Christ God, who appeared to you in radiance of the unspeakable divine light, where you, filled with indescribable joy and tenderness, gratefully cried out to you: Lord, the world is perishing in despair: to me, as the most unworthy of everyone, you, Father, reveal the secrets of eternal life: let the whole world know you. For this reason, knowing you to be God’s chosen one and a prayer book for the peace of the whole world, we joyfully cry:
Rejoice, lover of the monastic life of sorrow and hardship:
Rejoice, having received the gift of unceasing prayer from the Most Holy Theotokos.
Rejoice, you who have ascended to the high mountain of divine virtues:
Rejoice, in your humility you have been worthy of the great gifts of God.
Rejoice, thou who art deemed worthy of Christ’s visitation:
Rejoice, rejoicing at the sight of the beauty of the face of God.
Rejoice, this vision, for you have left us a spiritual treasure:
Rejoice, because we are inspired to walk along the path to eternal life.
Rejoice, raised up in heaven by the Holy Spirit:
Rejoice, filled with the grace-filled gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Rejoice, you constantly bear the image of Christ in your heart:
Rejoice, filled with love and compassion for people.
Rejoice, O Reverend Silvana, preacher of love for the enemy and teacher of humility and prayer.
