You appeared in the city, as in the desert, / in humility, purity, and in labor, and struggle, and in patience, blessed Father John, / For we take up the cross of Christ, following Him / and there were in prayers and psalmody day and night/ foreign language speeches about the salvation of the whole world of the Christian race,/ and you moved to the Everlasting Light./ Now to your grave return those who come,/ praying to the Lord, the Mother of God and the Forerunner,/ receive healing through your prayers./ But always pray for us, blessed Father John,// that our souls may be saved.
