From this worldly life you came, / into the quiet haven of monastic life, the Venerable Macarius, you entered, / labored well in it, / enriched your soul with the highest virtues thou art,/ and thou didst appear as a good shepherd and teacher to the monastic council,/ to whom thou didst reward the monastery,/ also entered into silence and became worthy of the vision of God,/ reposed unto the Lord Thou art,/ Who hast enriched thee with the gift of miracles./ Pray to Him now,// May He save through faith and love those who honor thy holy memory.
