To the guardian of infantile kindness and bearer of martyrdom, blessed Gabriel, our country’s precious adamante and the accuser of Jewish wickedness! To you, we sinners come running prayerfully, and lamenting our sins, and being ashamed of our cowardice, we call to you with love: do not disdain our filth, O treasure of purity: do not abhor our cowardice, long-suffering to the teacher: but more than these, Seeing our weaknesses from heaven, grant us healing through your prayer, and teach us to be imitators of your fidelity to Christ. Even though we cannot patiently bear the cross of temptation and suffering, otherwise, do not deprive us of your merciful help, servant of God, but ask the Lord for freedom and weakness for us. Also, hear the mothers who pray for their children, and pray for health and salvation for the baby from the Lord.
There is no such cruel heart that the holy infant will not be moved by hearing about your torments: and even if, apart from this tender sighing, we are able to bring no good deed, but with such a tender thought our minds and hearts, blessedly, have been enlightened for the correction of our life by the grace of God. Instill in us tireless zeal for the salvation of the soul and for the glory of God, and for the hour of death to keep vigilant memory of the hour of death, help us, especially in our deathly dormition, demonic torment and thoughts of despair from our souls through the intercession of your wife, and fill this with the hope of Divine forgiveness, both then and now glorify us the mercy of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, and your strong intercession, forever and ever.
