As the hart doth long for the waters, so longeth my soul after thee, O God.

г҃. Возжада̀ дꙋша̀ моѧ̀ къ бг҃ꙋ крѣ́пкомꙋ, живо́мꙋ: когда̀ прїидꙋ̀ и҆ ꙗ҆влю́сѧ лицꙋ̀ бж҃їю;
My soul thirsts for God, the living God; when shall I come and appear before God?

д҃. Бы́ша сле́зы моѧ̑ мнѣ̀ хлѣ́бъ де́нь и҆ но́щь, внегда̀ глаго́латисѧ мнѣ̀ на всѧ́къ де́нь: гдѣ̀ є҆́сть бг҃ъ тво́й;
My tears have been my bread day and night, when it is said to me daily, "Where is your God?

Why am I cast down, O my soul, and why do I toss about within me? Let me remember and exult in my spirit, that I will pass through a marvellous dwelling-place even to the house of God, in a voice of joy and praise, shouting for a feast.

O my God, why art thou cast down in spirit, and why dost thou shake me with thy sorrows? Trust in God, for I shall give him the praise who is the Saviour of my countenance, my God.

My soul is troubled for this; I will remember thee from the land of Jordan and of Jericho, from a small mountain.

The abyss calleth to the abyss in the voice of thy roaring; all thy waves and billows have gone over me.

The Lord's mercy endureth forever, and from night to night I declare praise to my God who giveth me life.

‹. Рекꙋ̀ бг҃ꙋ: застꙋ́пникъ мо́й є҆сѝ, почто̀ мѧ̀ забы́лъ є҆сѝ; и҆ вскꙋ́ю сѣ́тꙋѧ хождꙋ̀, внегда̀ ѡ҆скорблѧ́етъ вра́гъ;
‹. As with a sword in my bones, mine enemy reproaches me; for he saith daily, Where is thy God?

а҃і. Внегда̀ сокрꙋша́тисѧ косте́мъ мои̑мъ, поноша́хꙋ мѝ вразѝ моѝ, внегда̀ глаго́лати и҆̀мъ мнѣ̀ на всѧ́къ де́нь: гдѣ̀ є҆́сть бг҃ъ тво́й;
Why am I cast down, O my soul, and why do I suffer distress within me? Hope thou in God; for I shall yet praise Him, the health of my countenance, and my God.

O my God, why art thou cast down in spirit, and why dost thou shake me with thy sorrows? Trust in God, for I shall give him the praise who is the Saviour of my countenance, my God.
