What ye glory in sorrow, ye are strong; all day long unrighteousness.

Alas for thy thoughts, O Soul, in thy tongue: For by the razor thou hast fashioned deceit.

Ye hath loved sore the soul more than riches, unrighteousness rather than to speak righteousness.

Thou hast loved all deadly words, O tongue of lying.

Alms. For this cause hath God destroyed thee to the end: He hath exalted thee, and hath removed thee from thy throne, O Theotokos, and thy root from the earth of the living.

The princes and nobles shall see and fear, and laugh at them and say:

I, however, like the olive tree that bears fruit in the house of God: I have trusted in Thee, O Lord, for ever and ever.

And I confess to Thee for ever, because Thou hast created me: and I endure Thy will, because it is good before the venerable Thine.
