Now thou lettest thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word: for mine eyes have seen thy salvation, which thou hast prepared before the face of all people, a light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel. Trisagion. And with thy spirit.
If the golden-throated liturgical cantor John sings the troparion to the holy John:
Troparion, Tone 3:
O John, you are a vessel of the Spirit,
A herald of the Bridegroom's gladness.
Your voice is like a stream of living water,
And your words are as honey and milk.
Glory to Thee, O Lord.
Glory to Thy love.
Glory to Thy mercy.
Thy light, O John the Golden-mouthed, like the brightness of a flame kindled with grace, hath enlightened the whole world: not for the sake of earthly treasures hast Thou sought riches, but by Thy words Thou didst teach us humility and showedest us the heights of godly wisdom. Therefore, pray to Thee, O John, that the souls of ours may be saved through the words of Jesus Christ. Glory to Thee, O Father, and to Thee, O Spirit, and to Thee, O Holy One.
