Anyone who wishes to receive communion must adequately prepare for this Holy Sacrament. This preparation is called fasting. On the eve of communion, you must be at the evening service and it is advisable to read, in addition to the usual prayers for those coming to bed, the canon of repentance to our Lord Jesus Christ, the canons to the Most Holy Theotokos and the Guardian Angel.
