Heavenly One of the Circle not hath abandoned Thee,
and into Hell descended, all-raisings Thou hast wrought,

O Soul/Spirit of Christ, Thou Unutterable Lover of Man, and unspeakable Goodness! For I have seen Thee fallen into the dark prison of hell, O Stranger to death; enduring passions, Thou didst deliver me. Therefore we bless Thee, O Master, and exalt Thee for ever and ever.

Enrobed more gloriously than the sun by thy light, O King, when thou didst enlighten the world with dawn, / Thou didst place thyself on the right hand, being exalted: / Whom all ages doth uplift in praise.

By Thy will alone, having united the world in peace,
Thou didst take Thy holy Body from the Virgin,
To raise this one above us, desiring:
We are lifted up forever and ever.

By counting the word to man, / Godhead abode in a holy dwelling, / having poured forth light of dual brightness: / wherefore I sing thee for ever.

Golden-crowned sacred priest before the image,
Receiving unspeakable light inaccessible,
Illuming all by thy understanding.
Therefore we praise thee, for ever.

O Soul/Spirit of God, in the cave / resounds the joy of the Theotokos' daughters, / then do we portray: / now perform its deed, / raising up all the universe to sing to Thee: / O Lord, praise His works, / and exalt Him for ever.

Therefore, let us sing the hymn of the Theotokos: My soul doth magnify the Lord: with the refrain: More to be desired than fine gold.
