Thy Resurrection, O Jesus Christ, doth save us, / the Angels sing on high in heaven, / and us also on earth are made worthy, / by heart to glorify Thee.

Stichos: When the Lord arose, He was clothed in loveliness.

Having smitten the brass doors and opened the gates of hell, / because God is all-powerful, / He raised up the fallen human race to life. / For this we also with one voice cry: / Raise up the dead, O Lord, Thy glory.

Stichos: For Thou hast established the earth, wherefore it cannot be moved.

Burnt incense of ancient Jesus Christ would fain correct us,
On the cross it fastens,
And in the grave it lays,
Whose women with tears besought, weeping and saying:
O Thou, Saviour of all,
As Thou willedst to enter into the grave;
Entering as Thou wast adorned;
How Thou didst lie, O Life-giver, concealing Thy body;
But Master, because Thou hast promised us to rise,
And wiped out our tears.

Weeping for Him, an angel cried to them:
Cease weeping, apostles,
For He is risen from the dead,
Giving eyesight to the world, and bidding pray.

Stichos: Thy house, O Lord, should be a wall of defence, throughout the day.

Thou hast suffered, O Lord, as Thou wast willing,
And death, by Thy burial, was overcome;
On the third day didst Thou rise again, O Lord,
By the glory of God,
Bestowing upon the world endless life,
And didst command to pray.

Glory to Thee, O God, and to Thy Christ, and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

Mercy of the ancient holy one is received by us:

Now thou lettest thy servant depart in peace, O Lord,
according to thy word:
for mine eyes have seen thy salvation,
which thou hast prepared before the face of all people,
a light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.
