Thy Resurrection, O Jesus Christ, doth save us, / the Angels sing on high, / and us on earth hath vouchsafed, / with hearts let us glorify Thee.

Stichos: When the Lord arose, He clothed Himself in loveliness.

Having smitten the brass doors and opened the gates of hell, / because God is all-powerful, / He raised to life the fallen human race. / For this we also with one voice cry: / Raise up the dead, O Lord, Thy glory.

Stichos: For Thou hast established the earth, therefore it shall not be moved.

Thou, O ancient Theotokos, desirous to prove us by fire,
Pinkest Thou on the cross,
And layest in the grave;
Whose myrrh-bearers, weeping with tears, besought Thee, saying:
O Thou who didst save all,
As Thou wouldest enter into the grave;
Entering, as Thou wast adorned;
As Thou didst lie down;
What place is this, O life-giving, where Thou hidest Thy body?
But Master, because Thou hast promised to us,
And wiped out our weeping tears.

Weeping for Thee, an angel cried unto them:
Cease from weeping, apostles,
For He who rose,
Giveth the world the gift of cleansing eyes,
And commandeth us to pray.

Stichos: Thy house, O Lord, should be a wall of defence, throughout the day.

Thou hast suffered, O Lord, as Thou wast willing, / and death by Thy burial was overcome, / on the third day didst Thou rise again, O Lord, / with glory from God, / bestowing upon the world endless life, / and didst command to pray.

Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, and now and ever and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

O Theotokos: Creator and Saviour mine, / Jesus Christ passed from thy holy couch, / in my sorrow, / freeing me from the first curses of Adam. / Therefore all-holy, / for thou art our Mother and our Lady, / we, voiceless, cry without ceasing: / rejoice, O Angels, rejoice, O Lady, / intercessor and protection, / and salvation of our souls.

Mercy of the ancient Saint is received by God.

Now thou lettest thy servant depart in peace, O Lord,
according to thy word:
for mine eyes have seen thy salvation,
which thou hast prepared before the face of all people,
a light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.
