Merciful Lord, have mercy on us: for all of us are without understanding in every way, and this our prayer we offer before Thee as sinners; have mercy on us.

O Lord, have mercy on us, for in thee we trust: let not thine anger be kindled against us, nor count our transgressions; but look upon us now with a favorable eye, and deliver us from our enemies: thou art God our King, and we thy people, all our works are by thy hand, and to thee we cry.

O Lord, eternal and King of all creation, having vouchsafed me even in this hour to come to Thee, forgive me the sins I have committed today, by deed, word, and thought: and cleanse, O Lord, my humble soul from every stain of body and spirit, and give me, O Lord, a peaceful sleep this night: that arising from my humbled bed, I may find rest in Thy holy name throughout all the days of my life, and overcome those who fight against me, both fleshly and spiritual foes: and deliver me, O Lord, from vain thoughts which defile me, and from evil desires.
Thou art indeed the Christ, our God, and our strength, and our glory, O Holy One, now and ever, and to the ages of ages. Amen.

O All-Ruling One, Word of the Most High, most perfect in Thyself, O Jesus Christ, many times have I sought Thee, O Merciful Lord, never ceasing to pray to Thee, but Thou dost ever abide within me. O Jesus Christ, good Shepherd of Thy flocks, deliver me not into the hands of the accusers and let not Satan prevail against me, for indeed he abides in me. For Thou art the Lord, God, Holy Jesus Christ, sleeping Thou didst preserve me with an unquenchable light within Thy holy temple, where Thou didst rest as Teacher. Give also to me, O unworthy servant of Thine, a repose upon my bed: enlighten my soul by Thy light, loving it with the love of Thee, and with Thy words let my heart be moved, and my body by Thy passionless strength. Keep my thoughts in Thy humility, and raise me up at the time to be like Thy glorious praise for ever. Amen.

O Lord, our God, O Comforter, O Spirit of Truth, have mercy on me, a sinful servant of Thine, and forgive me my unworthy state, and blot out all my transgressions, for I have sinned today, both as a man and more than a man, even as the sin of a beast: voluntary sins and involuntary, known and unknown, from my youth, from my schooling, and also from oppression and slander. Even in the name of Thine have I blasphemed, even in thought have I cursed Thee; I have grieved others with anger, I have been angry for no cause, I have lied, I have sown idle talk, I have labored without purpose: when a poor man came to me, I despised him; I have grieved my brother, I have grieved at weddings, I have judged others; I have quarreled, I have grown proud, I have been angry: when standing before Thee in prayer, Thou hast moved with my deceitful heart of this world: I have had evil thoughts, I have committed adultery, and by them I was pierced in the heart: I have spoken unseemly words, I have mocked my brother's sin, for mine are countless sins: even in prayer I did not labor, and even what else I did evil, I do not remember: yet all these and greater have I done. Forgive me, O Creator, O Master of Thy unworthy servant; leave me, forgive me, blot out my transgressions, for Thou art good and lover of mankind: that I may lie down in peace, sleep and rest, the prodigal, sinful and sinner I am: and I will prostrate myself, I will praise Thee, I will glorify Thy most holy Name with the Father and the Only-begotten Son, now and ever and to the ages of ages. O Thou, who hast brought forth the life eternal, and dost reward with great gifts the immortal King, most bountiful and loving of men; for having been idle in Thy desire, and doing nothing good, Thou didst bring me to the end of this day, turned and saved my soul. Be thou merciful to my sinful and naked deeds: raise up my fallen soul, defiled by countless sins, and let all my evil thoughts be made visible in this life. Forgive my sins, O One without sin; for I have sinned today both knowingly and unknowingly, by word, deed, thought, and all my senses. Thou Thyself dost cover me from every opposing resistance with Thine ineffable love and power. Cleanse, O Lord, the multitude of my sins. Mayest Thou, O Lord, deliver me from the nets of the crafty one, and save my sinful soul, and enlighten me with the light of Thy face: when Thou comest in glory. And let not my sleep be unseasonable today; and let not my thoughts be without purpose: and keep the thought of Thy servant undefiled, and all the works of Satan from me: and enlighten our understanding hearts, that we may not fall into death. Send to us an angel of peace, guardian and instructor of soul and body, that he may deliver me from my enemies: when I arise with Thee, let me bring Thee thanksgiving prayers. O Lord, hear Thy sinful and righteous servant; by Thy will and conscience: give me to learn by Thy words, and drive far away the evil spirits from me: and bless Thou my standing, and praise and glorify the Most Holy Theotokos, who gave us a defense against our sins, and receive this praying for us. For we know that Thy lovingkindness never ceaseth, and I pray unceasingly. By this defense, and by this sign of thy great mercy, and all Thy holy words, keep Thou my soul, O God: for Thou art, and art glorified to the ages. Amen.

O Lord our God, who have sinned today in word, deed, and thought, forgive us for Thy goodness and love of mankind. Give me a peaceful sleep and an undisturbed heart, through Thy angel who keeps me, covering and guarding me from all evil: for Thou art the guardian of our souls and bodies, and to Thee we send glory, Father, and Son, and Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Lord God, in whom we have believed and whose name we invoke above all names: grant us, as we depart to sleep, to weaken our soul and body, and keep us from every vain desire; preserve the longing for passions, extinguish the kindling of bodily uprising. Grant us a wholehearted life of deeds and words: that we may receive a righteous dwelling, not falling away from thy blessed promises, for thou art blessed unto the ages. Amen.

O Lord Jesus Christ, in Thy holy presence, for the sake of Thine most precious Mother, and of Thy angelic hosts without body, who proclaim and minister to Thee, O God-loving Apostles, bright and goodly Martyrs, venerable and life-bearing Hierarchs, and all Thy saints with their prayers, deliver me from the present possession of the evil one. Be Thou, my Creator and Maker, unwilling that death come upon the sinner, but may he turn to life; grant also to me this turning by Thy merciful acceptance: change me from the harmful words of sin, speaking to devour me, and lead me into hell alive. Be Thou, my Comforter, O my compunction, which for my sake was clothed in a mortal body, and wrest me away from the state of being baptized, and grant compunction to my soul in its baptismal state. To Thee, O Most Pure Mother of God, with great reverence I fall down and pray: Remember, O King, because without ceasing I sin against Thee and against Thy Son, and many times I confess and weep bitterly before Thee, trembling in fear: Will not the Lord smite me, and again at the appointed time oppress me heavily? Knowing this, my Lady, Thou Who art the Right Hand of God, pray that He may forgive me, strengthen me, and grant good works to do. For I know, O my Lady, that from one moment to another I hate the deeds of my own soul, and with all my heart love Thy Law; but I do not know, O Most Pure Mother, whence I hate, yet still love, and thus commit sin. Do not allow, O Most Pure Mother, my will to accomplish these things, for it is not meet: But may Thy will and the will of Thy Son be accomplished: that Thou mayst save me, enlighten me, and grant good gifts to Thy servant, that I may cease from all unclean deeds and live henceforth in obedience to Thee, which is fitting for every glory, honor, and blessing, with Thine eternal and merciful and righteous and life-giving House, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. O Guardian of the Word, steadfast guardian of my soul and body, forgive all my sins committed today, and deliver me from every evil temptation by my adversary, that I may not be angered against Thy holy Name: but pray for this sinful and unworthy servant, that Thou mayest show me Thy goodness and mercy, and make me worthy to stand before the throne of Thine Only Begotten, and all holy angels. Whoever hates and persecutes us, forgive them, O Lover of mankind. Bless those who do good; grant to brothers and kinsmen of ours gifts for salvation and eternal life. Visit the sick, and grant healing. Govern in the sea. Travel with travelers. Support the Christians. Grant forgiveness to those who serve and love us our sins. Those who have taught us unworthy ones to pray for them, have mercy on them through thy great mercy. Remember before Thee, O Lord, our fathers and brothers departed this life, and repose them, where Thou dost sit at Thy Father's right hand. Remember before Thee, our brethren in captivity, and deliver them from every adversity. Remember before Thee, those who bear fruit and do good deeds in thy churches, and grant to them also for salvation and eternal life. I confess to Thee, Lord God, my Creator, in the Holy Trinity, glorified and worshipped, Father, and Spirit, and Power, all my sins, wherewith I have sinned in all days of my life, and at every hour, and in this present time, and in past days and nights: by deed, word, thought, meditation, drunkenness, secret sin, festive speech, sighing, laziness, slander, accusation, negligence, self-love, many-jointedness, theft, unrighteous speaking, foul gain, lechery, envy, wrath, memory of evil, hatred, wickedness, and all my feelings: by sight, hearing, touch, taste, smell, and other sins, both spiritual and bodily, wherein I have provoked Thine anger, God mine, and wronged my neighbor. Weeping, I confess to Thee, Lord God mine, and I have the will to repent: truly, O my God, help me, beseeching Thee with tears: and let Thy mercy forgive all these, for Thou art good and lover of mankind.
҆҆ Мл҃тва ст҃а́гѡ і҆ѡа́нна дамаски́на,
ю҆́же ѹ҆казꙋ́ѧ на ѻ҆́дръ тво́й, глаго́ли:
Mercy of the holy and venerable John Damascus,
who pointed to thy wound, spake:
"Let not thine heart be troubled for this small wound,
for greater wounds thou dost bear within."

А҆́ще бо пра́ведника сп҃се́ши, ничто́же ве́лїе, и҆ а҆́ще чи́стаго поми́лꙋеши, ничто́же ди́вно: досто́йни бо сꙋ́ть млⷭ҇ти твоеѧ̀. Но на мнѣ̀ грѣ́шнѣмъ ѹ҆дивѝ млⷭ҇ть твою̀: ѡ҆ се́мъ ꙗ҆вѝ чл҃вѣколю́бїе твоѐ, да не ѡ҆долѣ́етъ моѧ̀ ѕло́ба твое́й неизглаго́ланнѣй бл҃гости и҆ млⷭ҇рдїю: и҆ ꙗ҆́коже хо́щеши, ѹ҆стро́й ѡ҆ мнѣ̀ ве́щь.
O Master, lover of mankind, wilt Thou indeed let this my grave be for me; or yet enlighten still my soul by Thy light today? Lo, before me now is a grave, lo, death stands facing me. In Thy judgment I fear, and endless torments; but not ceaseth the creating: ever in Thee doth the Lord of my sin grieve, and reproacheth Thine image, and all my earthly powers, and the guardian angel of my soul.
For verily, O Lord, I know wherefore, for that I am unworthy of Thy love; but worthy am I of every judgment and torment. But whether Thou wilt or not, save me. For if Thou hast saved the righteous man, nothing is greater; and if Thou hast pitied the pure in heart, nothing is marvellous: for they are worthy to beseech Thee. But upon my sinful self do marvel at Thy mercy: that my weakness may not overcome Thine unspeakable goodness and mercy: and as Thou wilt, order all things concerning me.
҆҆ И҆ та́кѡ хотѧ́й возлещѝ на посте́лю,
глаго́ли тропарѝ сїѧ̑, гла́съ в҃:
Thus desiring to lie upon the bed of repose,
they sang this troparion, tone 1:
Просвѣтѝ ѻ҆́чи моѝ хрⷭ҇тѐ бж҃е: да не когда̀ ѹ҆снꙋ̀ въ сме́рть, да не когда̀ рече́тъ вра́гъ мо́й: ѹ҆крѣпи́хсѧ на него̀.
Enlighten my eyes, O Lord Jesus Christ: that I may not fall into death, nor when my enemy saith: I have strengthened myself.
Сла́ва ѻ҆ц҃ꙋ̀, и҆ сн҃ꙋ, и҆ ст҃о́мꙋ д¦ꙋ.
Glory to Thee, and to Thy Mother, and to the Holy Spirit.
Застꙋ́пникъ дꙋшѝ моеѧ̀ бꙋ́ди бж҃е, ꙗ҆́кѡ посредѣ̀ хождꙋ̀ сѣте́й мно́гихъ: и҆зба́ви мѧ̀ ѿ ни́хъ, и҆ сп҃си́ мѧ бл҃же, ꙗ҆́кѡ чл҃вѣколю́бецъ.
Protector of my soul, O Lord, be Thou my God, for I walk in the nets of many: deliver me from them, and save me more closely, for Thou art a lover of mankind.
И҆ ны́нѣ и҆ при́снѡ, и҆ во вѣ́ки вѣкѡ́въ. Ґми́нь.

Пресла́внꙋю бж҃їю мт҃рь, и҆ ст҃ы́хъ а҆́гг҃лъ ст҃ѣ́йшꙋю, немо́лчнѡ воспои́мъ се́рдцемъ и҆ ѹ҆сты̀, бцⷣꙋ сїю̀ и҆сповѣ́дающе, ꙗ҆́кѡ вои́стиннꙋ ро́ждшꙋю на́мъ бг҃а воплоще́нна, и҆ молѧ́щꙋюсѧ непреста́ннѡ ѡ҆ дꙋша́хъ на́шихъ.
O most Glorious Theotokos, and of the holy company of angels, unceasingly we hymn with heart and voice, confessing her, for truly she gave birth to God Incarnate, and ever praying for our souls.
Та́же цѣлꙋ́й крⷭ҇тъ тво́й, и҆ прекрестѝ крⷭ҇то́мъ мѣ́сто твоѐ ѿ главы̀ и҆ до но́гъ, та́кожде и҆ ѿ всѣ́хъ стра́нъ, глаго́лѧ:
Thou also anointest Thy own, and consecratest the place of Thy feet from head even unto feet, likewise from all countries, saying:

εἰς τὸ τέλος τῷ Δαυιδ ψαλμὸς ᾠδῆς
Ѡ҆гради́ мѧ гдⷭ҇и си́лою чⷭ҇тна́гѡ и҆ животворѧ́щагѡ твоегѡ̀ крⷭ҇та̀, и҆ сохрани́ мѧ ѿ всѧ́кагѡ ѕла̀.
Guard me, O Lord, by the power of Thy mighty and life-giving breath, and keep me from every evil.
҆҆ Є҆гда̀ ѿхо́диши ко снꙋ̀, глаго́ли:
Въ рꙋ́цѣ твоѝ, гдⷭ҇и і҆и҃се хрⷭ҇тѐ бж҃е мо́й, предаю̀ дꙋ́хъ мо́й: ты́ же мѧ̀ бл҃гословѝ, ты̀ мѧ̀ поми́лꙋй, и҆ живо́тъ вѣ́чный да́рꙋй мѝ. Ґми́нь.
In Thy hand, O Jesus Christ, my Lord and Theotokos, I交付我的灵魂：你却祝福我，怜悯我，并赐给我永生的恩典。阿们。
