O Lord, have mercy on us, for in thee we have trusted: let not thy wrath light upon us, nor count our transgressions against us; but look upon us now with a favorable eye, and deliver us from our enemies: thou art God our King, and we are thy people, all our works are by thy hand, and to thee we cry.

O All-Ruling One, Word of the Most High, most perfect in Thyself, O Jesus Christ, Thou Who art God and our Savior, never have I sought to fight against Thee, servant though I am; but ever within me abide. And as Good Shepherd of Thine own flocks, do not deliver me into the hands of those who would corrupt me, nor suffer Satan to abide with me, for indeed he dwells in seven within me.
Thou art invoked by the Lord, O Holy Theotokos, and in Thy sleep Thou dost preserve me with an unquenchable light, in Thine holy home, where Thou didst rest as Thy Mother's Teacher. Give also to me, unworthy servant of Thee, peace upon my bed: enlighten my soul with the light of Thy wisdom, love my spirit with Thy love, and with Thy words, O Lord, soften my heart, and with Thine unsparing strength make my body passionless: preserve my thoughts by Thy humility, and raise me up in time to join in Thy glorious hymns for ever. O Lord, heavenly King, Comforter, O Spirit of Truth, Thou hast shown Thyself merciful, and hast pitied me, the sinful servant of Thine; and Thou hast humbled me unworthy, and Thou hast forgiven all my transgressions, even as I have sinned today, more than a man, yea, worse than an animal: both voluntary and involuntary sins, known and unknown, from youth to old age, and from ignorance. Yea, in name of Thine have I blasphemed Thee, and have cursed in my thoughts; and I have grieved, and I have offended, and I have been angry, and I have sinned by word and deed: yea, I have despised the poor who came to me, and I have slighted him. And I have grieved my brother, and I have wronged my bride, and I have judged some; and I have quarreled, and I have grown proud, and I have been angry; and when standing before Thee in prayer, by my own wickedness of this world I was moved: yea, evil thoughts, and I have sinned by confession, and I have lied, and I have labored without purpose: yea, the needy came to me, and I despised him: and I have grieved my brother, and I have wronged my bride, and I have judged some; and I have quarreled, and I have grown proud, and I have been angry; and when standing before Thee in prayer, by my own wickedness of this world I was moved: yea, evil thoughts, and I have sinned by confession, and I have lied, and I have labored without purpose: yea, I have laughed at that which is not fitting. And I have had evil thoughts, and I have seen righteousness as strange to me, and thereby I was pierced in heart: yea, unseemly words have I spoken, and I have mocked my brother’s sin, for mine own part, and these are countless my transgressions: yea, I have not labored in prayer, and I know not what else evil I have done. For all these and greater than these have I sinned. Have mercy on me, O Creator of my soul, Thou Who art unworthy before Thee: and leave me not, and forgive me, for Thou art good and Lover of mankind: that I may lie down in peace, sleep and rest, the penitent, sinful and weeping I am; and I will prostrate myself, and I will praise and glorify Thy most holy Name, with Thee, and Thy only-begotten Son, now and ever, and to the ages of ages. Amen.

What hast thou brought, O thou great-gifted immortal King, most bountiful and loving of souls; for having been idle in thy desire, and doing nothing good, thou hast led me to the end of this day's journey, turning and saving my soul. Be mindful of my sinfulness, O Thou uncovered in all thy deeds: raise up my fallen soul, defiled by countless sins, and let all my thoughts be openly visible in this life. Forgive my transgressions, only sinless One; for I have sinned today both knowingly and unknowingly, by word, deed, thought, and all my feelings. Thou Thyself coverest me from every opposing resistance with Thine ineffable love and power. Cleanse, O Lord, the multitude of my sins. Willingly grant me deliverance from the nets of the crafty one, save my sinful soul, and enlighten me with the light of Thy face: when Thou comest in glory. And let not my sleep be unawares this night; and let not my thoughts be unguarded: and keep the servant of Thine unsullied: and utterly destroy all the works of Satan from me: and enlighten our understanding hearts, that we may not fall into death. Send us an angel of peace, guardian and instructor of soul and body, that he may deliver me from my enemies: when I arise with Thee, let me offer thee thanksgiving prayers. O Lord, hear the sinful and blessed servant of Thine, by Thy will and conscience: give me to learn by thy words, and drive far away the evil spirits from me: and bless Thou my standing, and praise and glorify the most holy Theotokos, who gave us sinners a propitiatory sacrifice, and receive this praying one for us: for we know that Thy lovingkindness doth not cease, and I pray continually. By this propitiatory sacrifice, and by this sign of thy cross, and all thy saints' prayers, keep Thou my holy soul with Thee our: for thou art, and art glorified to the ages. Amen.
O Lord our God, who have sinned today in word, deed, and thought, forgive us because Thou art a God of love and mercy. Give me rest and peace, O guardian angel sent to watch over me, covering and keeping me from all evil: for Thou art the guardian of our souls and bodies, and unto Thee we send glory, Father, and Son, and Holy Spirit, now and ever, and to the ages of ages. Amen.
O Lord our God, in whom we have believed, and to Whose Name we invoke all others: grant us, as we depart hence, to weaken the soul and body, and to keep us from every vain desire, except for those that are spiritual: preserve in us the longing for passions, extinguish the kindled rising of bodily desires. Grant us a pure heart both in deeds and words: may we receive a righteous life, not falling away from Thy good promises, for Thou art blessed for ages of ages. Amen.

O Lord Jesus Christ, my God and Creator, for the sake of Thy most precious Mother, and for the holy angels who proclaim and minister to Thee, the righteous apostles, the luminous martyrs, the venerable and life-bearing hierarchs, and all thy saints with their prayers, deliver me from the present possession of the evil one. Be Thou my God today, that Thou mayest not will the death of the sinner, but according to Thy goodness, turn him back to life; grant also to me this turning back, O merciful One, who art unworthy and undeserving: change me from the harmful words of sin, which seek to consume me, and lead me into hell alive. Be Thou my Comforter, O my Heart, even as Thou wast moved for me in the corruptible flesh; stir me up from this state of consecration, and grant me the compunction of my soul. Imprint Thy commandments upon my heart, and put away the works of darkness, that I may receive the blessings of Thine: for to Thee have I entrusted myself, O Saviour.

To Thee, O Most Pure Mother of God, with great reverence I fall down and pray: Lord, King, because continually I sin against Thee and Thy God, and many times I confess, lying before Thee, and confessing tremblingly: wilt Thou indeed smite me, and again at the appointed time oppress me. Knowing this, O my Lady Theotokos, my Master, I pray Thee, that Thou mayest forgive me, strengthen me, and work good for me. For, O my Lady Theotokos, because with all my heart I hate the deeds of my sin, and with all my mind love the law of Thy God: but I do not know, O Most Pure Mother, from whence I hate, that I may also love, and thus commit sin. Do not permit, O Most Pure Mother, my will to be fulfilled, for it is not good; but let Thy will and the will of Thy God be done: that Thou mayest save me, enlighten me, and give me good. Whoever hates us and fears us, forgive them, O Lover of mankind. Bless those who do good, bless them. Give to brothers and kinsmen of ours the gift of repentance for our salvation, and life eternal. In their weakness visit them, and grant healing. Govern in the sea. Travel with those who travel. Support the Christians. Grant to those who serve and love us forgiveness of sins. Those who have commanded us, even the unworthy, pray for them; forgive them according to thy great mercy. Remember before Thee, O Lord, our fathers and brothers departed this life, and repose them, where Thou sittest at Thy Father's right hand. Remember before Thee, our brethren in captivity, and deliver them from every adversity. Remember before Thee, those who bear fruit and do good deeds in thy churches, and give to them also for their salvation and eternal life. Remember before Thee us, the humble, sinners, and unworthy servants of Thy handmaids, and enlighten our hearts with the light of Thy wisdom, and guide us on the way of Thy commandments: through prayers glorify Thy Lady, and all thy saints, as Thou art blessed for ever and ever. Amen.

I confess to Thee, O Lord my God and Creator, in the Holy Trinity, glorified and worshipped, Father, and Spirit, and Power, all my sins which I have committed in all days of my life, and at every hour, and in this present time, and in past days and nights: by deeds, words, thoughts, prayers, drunkenness, secret sins, festive words, weeping, laziness, lying, unbelief, much thinking, theft, false speaking, evil gain, hypocrisy, slander, hatred, envy, wrath, memory of evil, malice, and all my senses: seeing, hearing, tasting, smelling, and other sins, both spiritual and bodily, by which I have provoked the anger of Thee, O God my Creator, and wronged my neighbor. For these things, sorrowing for myself, I present them to Thee, O my God, and have the will to be reconciled: truly, O Lord my King, help me, beseeching Thee with tears: and may Thy mercy forgive all past sins, as I have confessed before Thee, being good and lover of mankind.

Mercy of the holy and venerable John Damascus,
who pointed to thy wound, said:
"O Soul/Spirit, be thou healed!"
O Master, lover of mankind, wilt Thou indeed let this my tomb be for me; or yet enlighten still my soul by Thy day? Lo, before me is a tomb, lo, death stands facing me. In Thy judgment I fear, and endless torments; but not ceaseth the creating: ever in Thee doth the Lord of my wrath take vengeance, and reproacheth Thou Thy Mother, and all Thy holy powers, and the guardian angel of my being.
For verily I know, because unworthy am I of Thine love, yet worthy am I of every condemnation and suffering. But if Thou hast saved the righteous man, nothing more wondrous; and if Thou hast pitied the pure in heart, nothing more marvellous: for they are meet to receive Thy mercy. But upon me, a sinner, marvel at Thee: that by this may be shown Thine exceeding love, that my sin may not overcome Thee's unspeakable goodness and mercy; and as Thou wilt, order all things concerning me.
Amen.

Also heal thy own with thy kisses, and make the place of thy crucifixion from head to feet, likewise from all countries, saying:
Přednímu z kantorů, Davidův žalm k zpívání.
Guard me, O Lord, by the power of Thy mighty and life-giving blow, and keep me from every evil.
In Thy hand, O Jesus Christ my Lord, into which the Theotokos hath borne Me, I commit My spirit: Thou hast blessed me, Thou hast shown mercy to me, and life eternal give me. Amen.
