O Most Holy Virgin Mary, there is only one consolation in our sorrows! By You, Virgin Mother of God, the singing of the novice of Athonite was wonderfully complemented: replenish our spiritual strength, so that we may worthily sing to You, who truly gave birth to the Savior of the world. Offer up a prayer to Your Son for us, so that faith in us sinners will not fail, even as the devil seeks to snatch Your servants and throughout the entire Christian race. We pray for these brokenhearted ones. Help our lack of faith, which sows evil deeds in us, self-love and pride, love of money and voluptuousness, intemperance and drunkenness, may we get rid of them through Your intercession, O Most Pure One, and may we be worthy to receive salvation by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, to whom honor, thanksgiving and worship are due, with His Beginning Father, and with the Holy One. By the Spirit of one essence with Him, forever and ever.
