Good shepherd of the flock of Christ, our holy father Theodosius! Falling before your holy and multi-healing relics [or: to your holy icon], we pray to you with faith and love: be our helper and protector in this much-sorrowful and much-rebellious earthly life, guiding us invisibly to the faithful fulfillment of the commandments of Christ and the acquisition of the gospel virtues necessary for our spiritual salvation. Be the intercessor and guardian of our Fatherland, the Orthodox Russian kingdom, and our most pious, autocratic, great sovereign, Emperor Nikolai Alexandrovich, and his entire reigning house, preserving and observing them from enemies visible and invisible. Be the representative of your city, in which you have deigned to revere your holy relics, and to all of us who diligently flock to you and call on you for help, protecting us with the cover of your prayers from all troubles and sorrows and illnesses and granting us everything for the benefit of our souls and bodies. Hey, holy and merciful miracle worker!
We believe without a doubt that we can ask all this from our great-gifted God and that your intercession before Him is powerful. For this reason, we ask you: implore His goodness for us, sinners and unworthy, and grant us your holy archpastoral blessing, so that we may live a quiet and God-pleasing life, receive a good Christian death, and together with you we will inherit the Kingdom of Heaven, glorifying the great mercy of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, in To the Trinity we glorify and worship God, and your holy intercession, forever and ever.
