O venerable and God-bearing Father Nicodemus! Having great boldness towards God, pray unceasingly for all of us, before the storm of many troubles and sorrows will overwhelm us: bodily ailments, mental illnesses and the attacks of the enemy overwhelm us. For our enemy walks about, looking for someone to devour, and every hour we are caught by him. Moreover, even if we are careless about our salvation, we are not worthy to look up to the heights of heaven, but be our quick helper and deliverer: and just as you yourself were tempted by the enemy, and you valiantly defeated him, so teach us that we understand his evils and enemies. Give us therefore the memory of death, tears of repentance and hope of salvation: may we not fall into despair, may we not fall into despair, relying boldly on God’s mercy, and by remaining in our sins will we ultimately destroy ourselves, but may the memory of our sins be a source of warm tears and contrition of our hearts, and mercy
God and His grace, through your prayers, for our salvation, now and ever and unto ages of ages.
