The priest Zechariah, Gabriel, once foretold the birth of the Divine Forerunner in the church of God for deliverance and salvation to the people who were longing for salvation. For this reason, marveling at your gospel, I cry:
Rejoice, foretold of great things in those born of women;
Rejoice, you who showed the angel to your father.
Rejoice, most desired word for Zechariah;
Rejoice, If the sweetest hearing of advice.
Rejoice, for you preached the good news about the Baptist of Christ;
Rejoice, for you predicted the second Elijah.
Rejoice, preacher of repentance;
Rejoice, all-hearing trumpet of light from the lamp.
Rejoice, the beginning of the proclamation of grace;
Rejoice, foretelling of the dawn of the day.
Rejoice, beginning of the salvation of earthly beings;
Rejoice, foundation of the Kingdom of Heaven for us.
Rejoice, messenger of grace.
