You have learned all external intelligence, O all-blessed one, for you are intelligent and extremely witty, and it is from the Wisdom of God’s kindness that the healer appeared, Gregory, making wise the divine words. in your reverence they cry out:

Rejoice, morals like a vessel;

Rejoice, immaterial treasure of Light.

Rejoice, all-fruitful root of the noble tree;

Rejoice, fragrant kinnamone of piety.

Rejoice, everlasting flower of mystical agriculture;

Rejoice, abundant phoenix of spiritual prosperity.

Rejoice, for you have despised worldly flattery;

Rejoice, for you have received God-given grace.

Rejoice, warmest servant of Christ;

Rejoice, thou who art above all perishable things.

Rejoice, quickening of your spiritual strength;

Rejoice, you who put to death passions and aspirations.

Rejoice, Father Gregory, preacher of grace.
