Glory be to thee, O new Jerusalem: for the glory of the Lord shineth upon thee. Rejoice now, and be glad in thy birth. Thou, O pure in beauty, Theotokos, arise today at thy nativity.

Therefore: Glory, and now: Lord, have mercy thrice. Blessed be thou. Pray for us with thy father's holy fathers, O Theotokos, who also art Jesus Christ, have mercy on us, Amen.

Christ is risen from the dead, trampling down death by death, and upon those in the tombs bestowing life. [Thrice.]

And Thou hast granted us eternal life, bowing down to Thee with three days' resurrection. And we say unto Him who is fallen asleep: Jesus Christ hath risen.

CHIN', as it behooves to sing twelve psalms privately, even as the holy fathers of the wilderness did both by day and by night: wherefore in the scriptures and in the lives and martyrdoms of many saints it is remembered.

This hierarch, the venerable Dositheus, archmandrite of the cave monastery, having brought forth this order from the holy mountain, thus began:

If the priest blesses: Blessed be God our King, always, now and ever, and to the ages of ages. And the appointed reader saith: Amen.
