O Lord, have mercy on me, according to the great mercy of Thine and the multitude of Thy mercies, cleanse my iniquity. More than that, wash away from me my iniquity, and from my sin cleanse me. For I know mine iniquity, and my sin is before me, manifestly. I have sinned against Thee alone, and deceitfully before Thee; that Thou mayest justify in Thy words, and overcome when Thou judgest her. Lo, in my iniquities was I conceived, and in sin did my mother bear me. For Thou lovedst truth, O God, the hidden and secret wisdom of Thine didst reveal to me. Pour upon me dew from above, and cleanse me: wash me, and more than snow shall whiten me. Let Thy ears give me joy and gladness; let the bones of the humble rejoice. Turn away Thy face from my sin, and all my iniquities Thou shalt cleanse. Make a clean heart within me, O Lord, and renew my spirit in my mother's womb. Do not cast me off from Thy face, nor take Thy Holy Spirit from me. Give me joy of salvation Thine, and establish me in the house of Thy handmaidens. Teach me the way of Thee, that the ungodly may be turned to Thee. Deliver me from the blood of the Lord, O Saviour of mine; my tongue shall praise Thy righteousness. Thou hast heard, O my heart, and Thou wilt make known my words: let the walls of Jerusalem be built up by Thy blessing. For if Thou hadst desired a sacrifice, I would have given it Thee: Thou didst not desire burnt offerings. A sacrifice to God is a broken spirit; a contrite and humbled heart, O God, Thou wilt not despise. Blessed are the righteous, with Thy good will, and let them be built up the walls of Jerusalem. Then shalt Thou accept a sacrifice of righteousness, offering and fully consumed: then shall they lay upon Thine altar young bullocks.
