Glory, O Lord Jesus Christ our God, full of mercy and long to suffer the wrath of sinners, for whom Thou wast crucified, died, and rose again for the sake of righteousness in them that believe, enduring to the end: and having risen from the dead, Thou didst ascend into heaven, sittest at the right hand of Thy Father, and dost look upon the prayers of all who cry unto Thee with a pure heart: incline Thine ear, and hear my humble prayer, O servant unworthy, which I offer to Thee today in the abundance of Thy good pleasure for all Thy people.
And in the first prayers the Church Thy holy, general, and apostolic, Thou didst endow with Thy precious blood, confirming, strengthening, enlarging, multiplying, and pacifying: Thou didst shut the gates of hell against it for ever; Thou didst quell the rendings of the Church, extinguish the strifes of tongues, and quickly overthrow and root out heresies, and by no power whatsoever shall they overcome Thy steadfastness. Thank thee, O Lord, and forgive the old and the young, the poor and the orphans, and widows, and them that are in sickness and in sorrows, and tribulations, and distresses, and those who are in bonds and in imprisonments, and dungeons, and those who are afflicted by persecutions for thy sake and for the faith of the Orthodox, from the tongue of the godless, from apostates and heretics: be thou their refuge, visit them, strengthen them, comfort them, and quickly with thine power deliver, free, and save them. Thanke thee, Lord, and forgive me for my own foolishness by which I have been deceived, and from the way of salvation I have turned aside, to works of sin and unseemly things I have led: by thy wise providence again bring me back to the way of salvation. [Knee.]
