For unto the sons of Core a psalm of understanding.

Thou hast smitten the nations with thy hand and sown them; thou hast troubled them and driven them out.

For with their sword they did not inherit the land, nor did their arm save them; but thy right hand and thy arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst delights in them.

You are myself and my God, commanding salvation to Jacob.

But in thee we conquer our enemies, and by thy name we put to shame those who rise against us.

For I do not put my trust in my bow, nor is my sword to save me.

For thou hast delivered us from the hand of those that hated us and reproached us.

We shall praise in God all the day, and confess His name for ever.

‹. Thou hast cast us out and made us ashamed; and thou wilt not go forth in our strength.

Thou hast turned us back behind our enemies, and they that hate us have plundered us.

Thou hast given us as sheep for meat, and among the nations thou hast scattered us.

Thou hast made us a byword among the nations, and they shake their heads at us.

Let reproach be ever on our heads, and let derision encompass us who sit in the midst.

Lay us as a parable among the nations, a sign of trembling among the peoples.

All day long my reproach has been against me, and the shame of my face hath covered me.

From the voice of reproaching and accusing, from the face of the enemy and from driving us away.

All these things have come upon us, and we have not forgotten thee, nor have we transgressed thy covenant.

And our heart hath not turned back, nor inclined thou thy steps from thy way.

That thou hast humbled us in a place of affliction and covered us with the shadow of death.

Yea, if we have forgotten the name of our God, and if we have lifted up our hands toward a strange god.

Has He not searched these things Himself, for He knoweth the secrets of the heart?

Wherefore for thy sake we die all the day long; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter.

Arise, why sleepest thou, Lord? Rise up and do not withdraw for ever.

к҃є. Вскꙋ́ю лицѐ твоѐ ѿвраща́еши; забыва́еши нищетꙋ̀ на́шꙋ и҆ ско́рбь на́шꙋ;
That thou turnest away thy face to forget our poverty and our affliction.

As the soul of ours doth humble itself in the breast, let it cleave to the earth with its belly.

Arise, Lord, help us and ransom us for Thy Name's sake.

At the end, O changeable sons of Adam in understanding, sing a song of beloved ones, wise men.

My heart is conceiving a good word; I speak of the thing that I have made for the sons of Corah, with understanding: my tongue is the pen of one who writes swiftly.

With thy lips was grace poured forth, O beautiful in form among the sons of men; therefore hath the God blessed thee for ever.

Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O mighty in glory and in might.

And let thy left hand strengthen thee for truth and meekness and justice, that thy right hand may guide thee wonderfully.

Thy arrows made straight, O Lord; mighty are they; the peoples falling beneath thee, O King, in the hearts of thy enemies.

Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever; a scepter of uprightness is the scepter of thy kingdom.

Thou hast loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore doth the God, thy God, anoint thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

Kings' daughters were among thy honorables; upon thy right hand was the queen in garments of embroidery.

‹. Hearken, O daughter, and behold in thy dignity the queen doth stand at thy right hand, arrayed in fine gold, adorned with jewels.

Hear, daughter, and consider, and incline thine ear, and forget not the house of thy father, nor the law of thy mother’s sons.

For the king was enamored of your beauty, for he is your lord.

The daughters of Tyre shall prostrate themselves,
with gifts at thy countenance;
the rich among the people shall entreat thy favor.

All her glory, O daughter of a king, within, adorned with golden scarves, embroidered and embellished.

With gladness and joy shall virgins be brought: they shall enter into the king’s palace.

In gladness and joy they shall be carried, into the house of the king they shall be led.

Instead of thy fathers, sons shalt thou have; and I will give thee rulers over all the earth.

They shall remember thy name in every generation, and therefore peoples shall confess to thee throughout all ages and throughout the ages of the ages.

At the end, O sons of the forests, O hidden ones, call upon Me.

God is our refuge and strength, a helper in affliction, as it is said for the sons of Korah.

Therefore, we will not fear though the earth be shaken and the mountains moved in the hearts of the seas. Selah.

There was a shaking and the waters were agitated; the mountains trembled at His mightiness.

God is in the midst of her; her foundations are made firm by the rivers of waters that make glad the city of God: the Most High hath established his sanctuary.

The heathen raged, the kingdoms trembled; the Lord utters His voice, and the earth melts.

The nations are dismayed; the kingdoms are shaken; he utters his voice, and the earth melts.

Lord of powers at our side, our Defender, O God of Jacob.

Come, let us see the works of the Lord, which he hath made manifest upon the earth.

‹. Be still, and know that I am God; I will break bows unto the ends of all the earth, and make them utterly frustrate, and will make their shields combustion in fire.

Rejoice and know that I am the Lord; I will exalt myself among the nations, I will be exalted on the earth.

Lord of powers at our side, our Defender, O God of Jacob.
