With the light of the candle, which in darkness shineth more, we behold two lights: for not by a creature kindling fire, doth it instruct all to reason divinely, but with a ray enlightening them, and being called thenceforth, thus is it honoured, through these:
Rejoice, O light of the eyes of the sun:
Rejoice, O Light of the unsetting Sun.
Rejoice, O soul enlightening, enlightening souls:
Rejoice, for the thunder of thy terrifying adversary.
Rejoice, because thou hast greatly enlightened the enlightenment:
Rejoice, because thou dost flow forth with many streams.
Rejoice, ye that paint the likeness:
Rejoice, O Sinner-Weeping Purifier.

Rejoice, fainthearted, who drawest joy.
Rejoice, O sanctification of the divine good pleasure:
Rejoice, O life of hidden joy.
Rejoice, thou that art not yet wedded.
