O Reverend Father, our great intercessor, quick to hear those praying to you, servant of God and miracle worker Varlaam! Do not forget, as you promised, to visit your children: even though you have departed from us in body, you are still with us in spirit. We pray to you, O Reverend Father: deliver us from fire and sword, from the invasion of foreigners and internecine warfare, from the corrupting winds and from sudden death and from all the causes of demons that come upon us. Hear us sinners, and accept this prayer and supplication of ours in you, like a fragrant censer and like an acceptable sacrifice, which we offered unworthy, and healed the wounds of our unhealed souls: and like the ancient monk of your monastery Nikita, tormented by evil spirits, he soon healed Thou art, therefore, resolving us, too, from the bonds of the enemy, through thy prayers. Pluck us from the depths of sins, and guide us on the path of repentance, and free us from the snare of the devil by your merciful visit, and deliver us from visible and invisible enemies by your intercession: and help us now in this life, and in the outcome of our souls, and in the future, and forever and ever.
