Most easily, Father, you have endured various temptations for a good confession, and like all were tempted with gold by fire, you have exalted, raising those who cry out to better reverence:
Rejoice, stone of goodness;
Rejoice, stone of patience.
Rejoice, you were not afraid of the temptations of invasion;
Rejoice, quenching the furnace of passions.
Rejoice, unshakable wall of the Church of Christ;
Rejoice, much-bright lamp of God-wise people.
Rejoice, for you bore sorrow with joy;
Rejoice, for you appeared to the Lord with glory.
Rejoice, preacher of God’s mysteries;
Rejoice, you who offer salvation to the faithful.
Rejoice, divine soul builder;
Rejoice, most divine friend of Christ.
Rejoice, Father Gregory, preacher of grace.
