Inflamed with spiritual desire/ and rejecting worldly rebellions,/ you clung to the one God with love,/ and, seeking Him with all your heart,/ you went into the inner desert, by the waters dwelt, / where you lived in tears and labors for many years, / in patience with many people you lived the life of angels, / in the instruction of the Divine Mind: / and many monks Thou hast gathered, O wise one, / whom thou hast not forsaken when visiting, O Reverend Anthony, our Father, / praying to the Most Holy Trinity, / to deliver from all evils and to save our souls.
